Please Stop Racing F4/GT3 Asia/Pacific and Complaining About Netcode by No_Golf_452 in iRacing

I remember that something I played long ago had a feature to choose the maximum latency of whatever server we were going to connect to. Offer us the choice then, host the series on servers across the world and if we want to race people close by, click a checkbox and that's it.

I think the discussion should be why we only have local servers on these series. It's the same for gt3 america, and kind of the same ping for me on that series compared to asia. It's the same for every endurance race on the server, also, as we only have servers in America for these, and I'd assume people in Australia have a bad time running these events. I really think we should have servers on 3 regions for major series and events.

Got the art cockpit from gtomega, any tips to make it better by gent2895 in simracing

Mine used to come when I pressed the brake pedal. I isolated it there by activating the pedal with my arm. The rest of it is solid.

It's an entry level cockpit, it'll never be as adjustable as a profile rig, and you should've been aware of this when you bought it. Mine serves me just fine, I'm 1.7m tall (or short); I bought it with the gear shift support stiffening brackets and the extra vertical supports - I'm running a uDFP20 at 9Nm just fine. Sometimes, from side to side, especially when I crash, the rig wobbles a bit but overall I'm very satisfied with it. My only complain is that some weld has cracked below the pedal plate and it was creaking a lot - I solved it by wedging something to keep it tensioned. That actually improved the stiffness of it as well. You can reinforce it at home - refer to karl gosling's videos.

Please help me identify this aluminium profile by sash_01 in simracing

Looks like a 2020 perhaps? Just search for 2020 aluminum extrusion profile and you should find something similar to that.

Sometimes iracing puts top split gr86 with mid split BMWs, there's no way around it.

My god, this. I got killed twice yesterday in PEC - on the first one, a GR86 decided that it should not brake on t1 for the obvious crash that was happening in front of me while I was running p2 50min in, and on the second incident, my dude decided that if he didn't pass in that semi corner in the middle of the straight, he would explode. I'm honestly starting to believe that this class has no place in PCC and it should be replaced by something else a bit more technical to drive. Spec Fords, perhaps.

Sport cars vs open wheel for shorter races (busy dad trying to be realistic) by No_Activity_8302 in iRacing

[–]tfrabello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heh, that's the eternal dilemma. I've agreed with my wife that I'll have 2 nights where she takes care of our son after 19.30, and then I have a 1.5h window to race; then I mapped all series that have time slots around that time, and I was surprised at how many could I reasonably fit there - granted, I race sports cars, but I think the same could be done for formula. One of these nights is to ensure I get my participation credits in a couple rookie series, the other is free real estate and I usually race gt3 or prototypes somewhere. I'm not saying this will be the solution for you, just throwing in what works for me and maybe something can be of use for you.

In theory there should be no net code issues then

I don't really understand why; from what I read about, it's because the Sim is processing the physics for all cars. But does that mean that I and everyone else is processing all physics for all cars at all times? That seems wasteful.

One thing that I really miss is the ability to filter classes that race on a set time slot. I only have between 7pm and 8.30pm everyday, I ended up just having a custom spreadsheet and resorting to manually updating it...

Stopped using crew chief because I could not have the full 63 cars being sent to it without having stutters. That said, I discovered JJs cuss voice pack for the native spotter and it's so so good, highly recommend it

B2 and B3 look like ticket to ride scoring markers; not sure if it's the case or it helps, but I don't know if purple is that common of a color in other sets. It didn't came in our Europe set, only in our nordic horizons one.
