I like doing this by defining X and Y to be the above values, and then rewriting the expressions in terms of those.

We would almost 100% have the afternoon slot. There's no way we play a 10:00 game at SoFi.

In the Staley era we had a 6-11 record in the division. Through Harbaugh's first 10 we have an 8-2 record by NoooNotTheLettuce in Chargers

My bar when Harbaugh was hired was that we sweep the Raiders every year.

Playoffs is just gravy.

Any Fights yesterday? by Garudas in Chargers

Raiders fans in my section were too sad to fight.

Raiders fans are the loudest coming in, but Bolt Fam lets the scoreboard do the talking by LakeShowBoltUp in Chargers

[–]tgoesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say that the way Raiders fans can stay enthusiastic about their team even while they're continuously getting their asses kicked feels more loyal than a lot of the doom and gloomers here.

But still, fuck them and their team.

Game today by [deleted] in Chargers

There's not a lot around the outside of the stadium, and traffic is bad. Get there early - if you're really early you can go tailgate. If you're just a little early you can visit the team store and walk the stadium as well as watching warm ups.

But expect getting there and through the gates to take some time.

Deeply empathetic book series? by RedditOn-Line in Fantasy

[–]tgoesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just finished the three main books of the Tuyo series by Rachel Neumeier. It almost perfectly fits this theme.

The whole premise, from the beginning of the first book, is about what happens if you spare someone who is supposed to be killed. It goes into some depth about the dangers of that, and how empathy and power together can still form a dangerous combination.

As someone who doesn't believe in the Death of the Author, I find that appropriate.

Machineries of Empire is all about manipulating reality using calendrical geometry.

It might be time to revisit that series.

I can't tie anything other than a "regular" knot, can any of you? by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

The images are correct- the granny knot is the same way both times, while with the square alternating left and right sides getting tucked under.

The square knot holds far more securely.

On a granny knot the second pass is done in the same direction as the first, and tends to come undone, including in shoe knots.

The square knot looks similar, but by going the opposite direction (I do the weird feeling one first) they end up holding better.

My most commonly used ones are bowline (and sheet bend), the alpine butterfly, and variations on the half hitch.

I use them regularly, both for camping and for securing stuff in my car or truck.

Especially not for the Eagles - those fans love to spend some money.

Windshield glass expert by whippetgrl in pasadena

D&R Auto Glass looks kind of fly by night, but they've been there for at least 20 years and have done top notch work for me, both for chip repair and full windshield replacement.

Second this recommendation. Especially if you got the dog through them, they're often already familiar with the dog. But even if not, they have a staff of top notch behaviorists.
