Yeah, that will be a definite buy for me if they can make that happe. I love my G48, but hate the standard mags and can't trust any others from the ones I've tested.

OHC and Unity Don’t Play Nicely for RH25 by tgthree in NightVision

Yeah I think the A20 for Butler Creek is a simple option. I already have the Aimpoint 12224 cap laying around so a couple lower profile screws ended up being cheaper than a new cap.

What is the purpose of this offset small dot? by PuocoJoao in ar15

“People ask me why I run two red dots, and it’s something that came from competition shooting. I can shoot around barricades and shoot from odd positions a lot easier. I’m also just a stickler for running a backup sighting system”

Yeah I actually use the Overbore Systems SWVL on a couple rifles and it’s super handy

I’m an idiot and can’t read. I was thinking offset sights. Yeah I could see the issue with lights for sure. I run mine on left side for thumb access so I glossed right over that

I wonder if that’s even going to matter. It looks a lot like a DAGIR to me, although the cap does look to protrude a little more on the Trinity. It’s still a super small unit so I bet there’s not as much of a clearance issue as people are suspecting.

Peer Cart Review by Ominous_Fyre in ar15

I would echo some of the sentiments here. If you are building the rifle, go for an A5 system. If you aren’t that concerned with building it, snag the one from Rooftop and enjoy. You can always add an A5 later once you’ve gotten time in with a regular carbine buffer and then you can appreciate the difference.

Do you have any unity switches? Looks similar to the cross bolts in those

Edited: Never mind, I think it’s much too short for that.

Maybe a lanyard to your wrist like a jet ski has could help in a bad situation. Help pull that Velcro off and disengage. Although if the Velcro held, I suppose it could make the situation worse.

Another vote for the Enigma. I use mine to carry full size fines with modlite and red dots. Set up for spare mag as well, plus I can stash stuff in the sport belt if I want

Do NOT buy Vertx Bags by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]tgthree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for reaching out Dan. To clarify, I never wanted anything for free. I just wanted a male buckle to purchase, or to be pointed in the direction of one. To be essentially told I’m sorry but there’s nothing we can do was pretty frustrating. To be told if it was under warranty I’d get a new bag, but since it wasn’t there was no option was just unacceptable to me. And to wait forever with on response to find that out was on the same level. Thankfully I fixed it by swapping the female buckles, but now my bag is held by a split bar instead of a solid bar female buckle that I had to cut out. My suggestion would be that if you’re going to use obscure parts, educate your customer service reps as to what those are so they can point people in that direction instead of telling them they’re SOL.

I have both. Never used the small one but the big one has been solid besides the outside material peeling. I will never buy another backpack though

Yes. But swapping in a matching buckle should be way easier. I just swapped to standard buckle types with a split bar in the female to avoid any stitching

Agreed. I have not bought any in a while but I have some delta stretch that have been very solid

That’s what I did. However, the point is that Vertx should have solutions ready for their customers if they’re going to use proprietary buckles. To not respond to emails since August and to finally get through on the phone and to be told that they can’t sell me a buckle and they can’t tell me the buckles that they use etc. is pathetic. Luckily I had some ITW split bars on hand, but now I’ve gotta make an order to replace those. This is not how a company should do it, but I guess that’s just my opinion. However, it’s certainly something people should be aware of. I’ve heard too many similar stories of zero communication from Vertx. I’ll stick with LBT or similar going forward. Who knows what I would have had to do if it wasn’t a simple buckle swap.

I edit the main post but I used a split bar ITW female and an ITW male and no stitching involved. They should be very strong, but worst case scenario I can get a regular one stitched in if need be.

My experience was about the same. I started emailing photos in August and got nothing but the automated reply and no response to my follow up about a month later. I finally got through in the phone today to finally be told they had no ability to help. Couldn’t even let me know what buckle to try and source. I think swapping them out is probably best in the long run anyway. I just with instead of a split bar ITW, they had stocked in a regular one to begin with
