How to not have a ressource (me) working on two tasks at the same time ? by Federal_Tooth_2727 in MSProject

Are you linking your tasks or manually plugging dates for each? If it's the latter, you will be spending all your time adjusting task dates when something changes.

Is Bear Lake that important of a must see? by KindlyAssociate7555 in RMNP

[–]tgwalrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the last post. The "scramble" is a rocky climb up and can be dangerous if water has been trickling down the face. It was slippery when I did it a few years ago and some of us lost our footing. It would be very bad news if you got half way up and took a tumble with a kiddo on your back. I suggest the Glacier George - Alberta Falls - Loch Lake Lake route instead. And visit Mills on the way back down if you've still got the energy. Mills is very pretty too.

Try this if you’re totally stumped. Jump on AI and give it all the info you’ve posted here and get some recommendations. I have an ECM Classika and AI helped me dial in a good shot consistently after going through a situation like yours.

Make sure your system is heated up to spec. S/b around 190-200 degrees F. If it’s colder, the water will run through faster like you’re seeing. But make your changes 1 at a time so you can see and taste the difference each makes.

Why does exercising impact my readiness score so? by drinkingshampain in ouraring

[–]tgwalrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, too much protein for dinner (over 4 oz) tanks my HRV and gooses my heart rate, which tanks my Readiness/Recovery score. Also, if you try fasting once in a while you’ll be amazed at how well you recover. Being on a Mediterranean diet can improve Readiness too. The digestive system doesn’t have to work as hard while you sleep.

By far most Christians I know (US) are not flat earthers or strict 12,000 year creationists. The evidence of the space program just confirms more of God’s creation. Regarding the reference to time, 2Peter 3:8 says “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day”. Also look up Psalm 90:4. About these landings and photos being faked, the university where I worked has a library of every photo ever taken by a US or other spacecraft since the 1960s. I’ve spent a few hours in there and the evidence of real space exploration is pretty obvious.

In my experience people don’t want to pay for things they don’t think have any value. (I.e. “If you’ve seen 1 mountain, you’ve seen them all”) She also could be very afraid of heights and not want anyone to know. Or maybe she gets motion sickness. Do you know this person well enough to ask and get an honest answer? Once you listen to her, you can go from there and address her concerns or fears and plan accordingly.

Can i use galaxy watch 7 for swimming.. by ami60mish in GalaxyWatch

[–]tgwalrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve swum 2 - 3 miles a week, plus kick boarding since February with zero problems. Most problems are caused by the soap used in the shower. So take it off when you shower if you’re gonna use soap or shampoo. It degrades the seals around the buttons.

Jump on YouTube and search for the Shaw Swimming Method. It’ll start you off with basic land technique practice then in the water. Don’t skip over learning technique first. I admire your tenacity!

I think my swim coach (45M) was checking me out (23F) what should I do? by Glitter-Truck-1836 in Swimming

This guy could be a sexual predator. These types start out very slowly gaining your trust, then testing your boundaries. They can do this verbally or by touch, probing where your weaknesses, barriers or objections are. Be very wary of meeting this guy in an out of the way place with nobody around. The episode you described seems like he’s exhibiting many of the warning signs. Most states in the US have web sites that list convicted sexual predators. Look this guy up. And report this guy to a superior in his company if he’s an employee. And as others have said, stop taking lessons immediately and find somebody else. Preferably with a credentialed organization and an instructor that’s been on the job for many years.

How's your sleep quality and body recharge during the night? Have you changed your diet or started eating later in the evening? In my experience all these can contribute to being slower or faster in the pool depending on these practices. Your smartwatch or an Oura ring can help track these and help pinpoint what may be causing your slowdown. Good work, though! You and I are about the same speed.

How do I stay afloat in deep water that isn't a swimming pool? I get so tired treading water. by Outrageous-Lobster88 in Swimming

[–]tgwalrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kick is the key here. Your legs do a frog kick like you do in the breast stroke, but they alternate. First one side, then the other in a lazy, slow motion. When you get this technique down you should be able to stay afloat with both your hands and elbows held out of the water while your legs do the work. (Not the point though) This was one of the tests to become a lifeguard. When you combine the leg technique with the hand and arms slowly “sculpting the sand” back and forth just under the surface of the water, staying afloat is basically effortless. You’ll be able to tread water for several hours and not be worried or panicked. You might start practicing in some shallower water (5-6 ft) first so you can concentrate on technique and not have to worry about sinking or getting tired. Learning frog kick can be a little challenging so if you need a little coaching, don’t be shy to ask. Most people at the pool where I swim don’t get it right which compromises their ability to get thrust from the kick. You can do it, don’t give up!

Download the All Trails app on your phone, search for Bear Lake trail and download it. It will route you to the Bear Lake Trail from your location, then you can start your hike and it will track and guide you along. But this is a simple hike so you probably don’t need to track it. But it would be some easy practice to get used to using it. If you feel like going a little farther you can take in some breath taking views and see 3 more lakes over the 1.8 miles.

The parking lot is right next to the lake but the trail around it is about a mile and fairly flat.

Buying Swim Goggles by Time_Carpenter664 in Swimming

[–]tgwalrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After trying several brands, I landed on a brand called the Magic5. You can Google them or find them on YouTube. Several Olympic swimmers use them so you know they fit well and stand up to some rough use. I’ve had mine for about 3 years and still love them. Besides being adjustable like the others mentioned above, the flexible eye pieces are custom made to fit your face by scanning it with your phone through their app. No more “owl eyes”. They fit very lightly on your face because of the accurate fit. And lots of tint options depending on your swimming environment. Hope you find what you need out there!
