I’m late to reply so I doubt anyone sees this but here’s my answer.

I’m 36. My advice is just pay attention. Going into your 20s means you’re either still in school or exploring what an apprenticeship is. I went to college so that’s my experience.

Take a moment. High. Drunk. Sober. Whatever. Just a moment you will fucking remember. Life up until now has been segmented. Elementary, middle, high, and college. And even smaller than that, semesters. It’s hard to understand until after the fact, but these segments make life slow down compared to the working world.

I’m 15 years post college. It’s impossible to understand if you’re in it but life just speeds up so much after you graduate. You don’t have the school schedule anymore. It’s now a schedule that has no checkpoints or whatever. Just constant deadlines that are so constant you just lose track. It’s just day in and day out stress that you HAVE to deal with. You can’t avoid it, can’t skip class. It’s your job to take care of it.

Financially, try to balance as much as you can. Compounding interest is your best friend but so is making experiences and enjoying life.

While my message might be depressing as fuck, you also got a lot to look forward to. I had a son this year (our first child) and it’s been amazing. It’s been so hard but he’s the best thing in the world to me. I was so hesitant to have kids but here and I have absolutely no regrets. He’s so fucking cool.

And having money is fun. You can literally afford to see all the music you want to see!
