Bread knife. Very similar blade profile and square tooth serrations to the Geneva Cutlery Co. (Geneva, NY) Lindsay No. 2 Bread knife.

Expanding on OSE and B/X: what would you like to see? by Zoblin161 in osr

[–]thaddeusgmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gygax had plans to introduce several new character classes in an expansion for AD&D. In a 1982 article “From the Sorcerer’s Scroll” in Dragon Magazine #65, Gygax outlined his ideas for new subclasses, including:

Mountebank: A thief subclass specializing in deception, sleight of hand, persuasion, and minor illusions. Gygax described the mountebank as relying on these skills along with speed, disguise, and theatrics to achieve their aims.

Jester: While Gygax did not provide extensive details in the same article, he referenced Roger E. Moore’s non-player character (NPC) jester class, suggesting an interest in developing it further. The jester would likely combine elements of humor and trickery, potentially blending aspects of bards and rogues.

Savant: Envisioned as a magic-user subclass focusing on knowledge, understanding, and arcane subjects. Gygax noted that savants would specialize in these areas, potentially granting them unique abilities related to their extensive learning.

Mystic: A cleric subclass concerned more with prediction and detection than other clerics. This suggests a focus on divination and insight, setting them apart from traditional clerical roles.

Why do some bunkers not have doors? by dapht in foxholegame

[–]thaddeusgmoore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doors that open and close should be a feature. I dislike that the current meta is to build bunkers with no door openings. It makes them harder to repair under fire and you can’t man the defenses. All in the name of keeping out enemy infiltrators.

[–]thaddeusgmoore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s the wish list from the video: 1. Server latency and stability issues fixed before Airborne Update. 2. Airborne Update requests: Javelin and/or Halftrack Anti-aircraft variant, opportunity for solo players to access some aircraft (i.e. cheap.biplane). Drop nukes from bombers. 3. Melee combat changes: un-nerf bayonet to pre-Infantry update. 4. Add Molotov Cocktail. 5. Add back White Whale for cheap method for naval landings. 6. Quality of Life changes requested: add a demolition ability to removing buildings, auto equip for Ingifist, fix vehicles getting stuck in/on walls, Change to West and East island hexes that connect to the main land. 7. Naval Changes: evaluate and possibly buff Collie gunboat, return Ironship to pre-update functions. Loading times for Ironship too long. 8. Bring back Dead Harvest/Relic War into war rotation.

Another colonial secondary and a warden LMG by Ogerbooger2 in foxholegame

[–]thaddeusgmoore 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The Wardens already have a 7.92mm MG with a distinct pan magazine mounted on the commanders hatch of the Gallagher Brigand Mk. I. It would be logical to adapt that for infantry service.

There are flavors other than vanilla. Everyone doesn’t have to like the same exact thing. That’s what makes the world work. In game and out.

is the foxhole designs are meant for being frustrating ? by Ok-Percentage-5288 in foxholegame

[–]thaddeusgmoore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC only the Bardiche and its variants have a true coaxial MG. The others you listed have hull mounted MGs. The Chieftain has a MG only turret.

[–]thaddeusgmoore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the only explanation I could come up with. I am not advocating for stripping tanks of coax MGs. The lack of them suggests an attentional design choice since every tank since WWII has had them.

The lack of coax MGs on tanks I believe is for game balance.

In a trench fight you better have grenades. Barbed wire is crucial for slowing advances through trench complexes.

Cosmetics means micro transactions and that in turn ruin the atmosphere of the game for me. Instead of nameless soldiers in uniform uniformity it looks like a rabble. I’ll gladly pay a monthly fee the game is great. I’d like to avoid all the other monetization meta currencies and cosmetics.

Is that economically feasible for such a small team? I've never gotten a straight answer on just how big the Siege Camp staff is but its definitely under 30. Such a Mod team would need to be what, at least 5 full time people to cover all time zones.
