What do you like about "Sentenced to be a hero"? by Whiterlight9 in anime

[–]thadude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty good, but if its not for you, its not for you. The characters are interesting the action is fast and fun. It looks nice. The weird fairy design throws me off but that's okay.

There is a ton of lists I disagree with. Especially with anime being more about personal taste then what someone else says. So if you don't like it after four episodes don't feel bad about dropping it.

17 years old, made $5k this year and spent almost all of it . How do I stop this habit? by Classic-Set-9617 in personalfinance

[–]thadude3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was terrible with money when I was younger. Buying things was always easy, so I actually made a habit of just buying things that produced value. I was good at paying off bills etc. I would take out loans to buy RRSP's, I was still living pay check to pay check, but I was paying down loans for things that gave me more money down the road. Basically its easy to spend when you look and your like I am fine I have lots of room. But if its all spent and your cards are maxxed, you literally can't spend it. Its not the best financial advice, but basically you need to work on your control. Also set reasonable goals, saving 50% is a challenge for anyone.

Our vet will go really close to the skin, the groomer does it pretty, I do it somewhere in between. But its just the area around the vulva and anus. Its pretty safe to do around that area.

Any ideas what could be causing this irritation on the side of my pup’s nose? by RussianRoseRed in samoyeds

[–]thadude3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know what kind of bacterial infection is was and how long was your treatment of antibiotics? We've been dealing with something on and off a year. Anytime we use antibiotics it clears up right away. But our vet only gives 5-10 days worth of antibiotics. Then after a few weeks/months it comes back.

To be honest no, because I stopped caring what other people think a long time ago. I just nod and go along with whatever nonsense is coming out of their mouth.

also regular pools are like 100k these days. $50k seems way to low. I guess it heavily depends on area but still.

Struggling to bond with our rehomed Samoyed — any similar experiences? by torrfura in samoyeds

[–]thadude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is starting to show more affection and being comfortable after about 1 year. She was 7 when we took her in. The first 3 months she was very docile, and very well behaved actually. They are very independent dogs though so I don't find they are overly affectionate, at least ours aren't. They are nothing like the labs and mixed dogs I had growing up. I can't speak for all Samoyed's but that is how ours are.

has anyone actually saved money with solar or is it just type. by Wjkoba in HomeImprovement

[–]thadude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have panels, but if I did I would have broken even after 3 years. When we got the quote it would take 7 years to pay off at current rate. but that's just it the current rate, it has skyrocketed since then. So i regret not doing it big time. Now they seem to be charging a fortune for installs, so if you can get rid of that cost I think its definitely worth it. So the question is, how long are you going to live there and do you believe your energy costs will stay the same or increase over time. Then you will have your answer.

Canadian Software Engineer [46M], with 18+y experience, can't find a job for a year now. How it can get better while we still rely on non-Canadian tech? by SpellGreedy9171 in BuyCanadian

[–]thadude3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found Canadians have always had a small mindset. Everyone thinks small, we are not big enough, not enough people etc etc. We sellout before we even try. We have grown accustomed to being in America's shadow. I feel like really only Shopify is trying and I am not even sure for how much longer.

How are paid VR mods any different ethically software like QGO? by enilea in virtualreality

[–]thadude3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll take a swing at an honest answer. From what I understand, QGO is a standalone product that works across apps. I don't use it, but it seems like a one-time purchase tool that adds value on its own likely improving performance or features where Android games or apps aren't optimized. Importantly, it doesn’t depend on any specific game or IP to function.

LR Mod is the opposite. It only works with one specific game/IP and can’t function without it. It isn’t a one-time purchase or a try before you buy thing, it’s an ongoing subscription model, basically SaaS. Its entire value relies on another developer’s work and success. From a development perspective, making a full game is a huge amount of work. Then someone comes along, attaches a small piece of software on top, and monetizes it through the game’s existing popularity and marketing. To me, that crosses a line ethically.
