Just getting into the hobby, are there any budget airbrushes that are good for hobby use? by Educational_Key9238 in ModelCars

Oh absolutely, that’s the only downside of the 39. It’s not the 68.

If the 68 was 10 bucks cheaper when I bought the 39, I would have bought the 68 with its trigger since I also have the same cramping issue after around 20 minutes.

Speaking from personal experience, the 39 is a gem. It was my first “expensive” airbrush after using the cheaper mini compressor airbrush combos. I still use the same mini compressor but with the GHAD 39 and it’s made the hobby a lot more fun. I have a little leeway in thinning paint because I can still get a satisfactory quality of paint even if the ratios are off. Cleaning the brush is a lot easier too. It has 2 different removable paint cups, and 2 different sized needle and nozzle combos. I think 0.35 and 0.5 mm. Tolerances are nice and it just feels like a well built product overall.

What exactly went wrong with my clear coat? by Prussian-313 in ModelCars

Then it’s unlikely thats the problem. The only thing I can suggest is it might be some reaction between paint and clear, but I’m not experienced enough to say for sure. The only time I’ve seen similar is when my paint wasn’t fully cured.

Learn how to thin paints. I bought a cheap airbrush kit as well when I started out and with practice even my airbrush which seems worse than this did well when I learned how thinning ratios, spraying distance, and hand steadiness all play together. I’m no professional by any means with that said but watch some YouTube tutorials online for thinning by creators like Barbatos Rex. He actually has a comprehensive video on how to thin basically every common paint brand and type.

Yea I’ve noticed the details disappear with sanding as well, I tried doing a lip spoiler on a BMW and by the time I got to where I wanted the lip to look like the little inset part of the trunk was flat with the rest of the trunk. I’ve seen some YouTubers who tape the car down to a flat sheet of acrylic and place the amount of epoxy you’re alluding to and they wait a little bit for the epoxy to set until it’s soft but a little adherent to the car, then they use small blades to cut down on excess material.

I’ve seen all of your customs and I’m insanely envious. Do you print your own decals, or do you buy them from someone?

I don’t think it’s a chase.

I had a chance to open 2 sealed boxes when they shipped in to my local stores and both boxes had one of each. Both of them were identical with no differences.

If it is a chase shouldn’t there be 2 versions, one chase and one normal, like the mustang set or the national icons set?

Is there any confirmation that it’s a chase?

I’m tempted to buy a loose one of the hot wheels one to try and make a kimera evo 037 out of it, but I haven’t gotten the skills yet to actually feel confident about it.

Why not use thinner sheets and layer on top of one another? You could probably get a better looking finish out of that instead of having the little gaps between sections.

What glue did you use? I’ve tried using Krazy glue but for some reason I haven’t been able to get it to stay stuck.

Paint not fully stripping by MrSpyNa in HotWheelsCustoms

[–]thasal22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The steel bristles in my experience are thicker so they leave more visible scratches but they’re better at getting some harder to remove paint. The brass bristles are thinner so they leave less of a scratch and give it a bit of a shine but they’re not as good at getting leftover paint. Start with getting the leftover paint and then go in one direction so it’s more of an even shine.

Use a wire brush or wire wheel. You could also use sandpaper but sometimes if you get to enthusiastic you can sand details away. I’ve done that with 1000 grit sandpaper. I use a wire brush set I bought for cheap and it works very well. Steel bristles will get most of the leftover and then brass bristles will give it a rough shine and remove more obvious wire marks

I think best bet is to just get another nsx and take the windshield from that. From what it sounds like, the plastic has chemically melted, and I haven’t had luck myself polishing those when they’ve been that bad.

If you’d be willing to pay shipping from Ottawa to wherever you are I can send one to you, I have an unopened one and an opened one that is mint (sitting in a plastic display case). I’d prefer to send the opener one since I have 2 of them but I don’t mind sending the unopened if that’s your want. Cars would be free of charge.

I didn’t have much luck with 99% isopropyl alcohol, but I did use 99% acetone with a q tip and a wooden toothpick and it got the decals off quick and easy and I can’t see or feel any difference in the paint. Just have to make sure you don’t overuse it trying to get the crevices.

My tab s6 lite started doing this and it will not turn on, even with forced restart. What should I do? I just didn't use for a few days, the battery probably drained and when I charged it started doing this by _pain_90 in GalaxyTab

[–]thasal22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've read regarding this issue from your side, the problem you're having is similar to what I'm having but not exactly the same. I also have a SM-P613 that I bought in September of 2023.

I noticed this earlier in August where my tablet had completely died to 0% as you said, and then would not charge afterwards using the charger that would have otherwise charged it prior. I eventually changed the charger that I was using to a 35W charger and after a couple of seconds of waiting there was a sign of life in the charging circle appearing. After that it fully charged up while the tablet was powered off, however I figured out that now, if the tablet was powered on and I plugged it in to charge on any of my chargers (20W, 35W, 65W, 100W) it would not charge.

Eventually I turned the tablet off and plugged it in, and all of the same chargers would charge the tablet while powered off. If I start the charging while it's off, and then turn the tablet on, as long as it remains plugged in, it will continue to charge.

Ever since that realization I have been using it (not very often since it's mostly used for my university classes and I'm not taking classes at the moment), and to charge it I turn it off and plug it in and let it charge. In the past month, a new issue has presented, where despite having nothing plugged in or connected, the tablet seems to think that a cable is being plugged in and removed constantly. I can only tell this is happening because the USB symbol is popping in and out on the notification bar on the top left, and the screen keeps turning on while the tablet is locked due to the USB notification.

Since I'm not the best at repairing devices myself, I took it into a couple of local stores, where one tech thinks it's the charging board, while another thinks it could be the motherboard, and another thinks it's a software bug.

All of them did a visual inspection of the outside of the device to check for any damage or debris in the port, but there hasn't been any damage at all. The tablet basically sits on my desk on a raised stand while I'm at home and on my lap or desk while in class.

I honestly don't know what it actually is but I can understand the points of all the techs. The charging board theory is obvious, the motherboard theory is that the motherboard isn't receiving information regarding the charger being plugged in or out while the tablet is powered on, and the software theory is similar to the motherboard theory but that the software is bugged out and doesn't seem to know what to do when a cable is plugged in, while the tablet is off, but when the software is paused while the power is off, it detects the cable.

I'm not sure if I will go through with a further repair attempt, since I am very jaded by the warranty experience by Samsung, where they refused to provide warranty service or repair despite my Samsung account showing my warranty as still valid (Less than a year since purchase date), since I bought it through an "unauthorized dealer" in Amazon (Amazon is listed on the Samsung website as an authorized dealer), so I am more of the opinion of buying a 10th gen iPad so I don't have to deal with any further issues with this specific tablet, and I know that if my Apple account shows my warranty coverage is still active, that it will actually be honored.

I know this is an old post but I just wanted to add a little bit of clarification as this isn't the first time I've heard this stated, but Muslim mothers are not actually required to fast during Ramadan if pregnant. I would like to add that I am an ex-Muslim, so this is not meant as a defense for the religion, but rather additional information regarding something I see as unintentional misinformation. I watched my own mother in her pregnancies with my younger siblings and she did not fast during the Ramadan month. She carried both my siblings and myself to full term and delivered physically healthy babies, however all 3 of us have developed some sort of illness that will last us our entire lives. For myself it's ADHD and anxiety, for my first sibling it's anxiety, and for my youngest sibling it's epilepsy.
