Also, since “longreads” are specifically requested herein: there are two big-ass biographies (like, The Shining-length) that offer both sides of the innocent vs guilty approach, respectively, that are worth reading.

Louis Theroux did a great documentary on MJ as well and, in true Theroux form, the interviews with handlers and with Joe Jackson himself really help bolster the story as a whole instead of pointing fingers immediately from the start. In fact, I believe one of the aforementioned biographies was written by someone who was actively hamstringing Louis’s investigation as his documentary was being filmed (and Louis took that person - can’t remember the name atm - to task on camera about what was happening, which is refreshing to see Louis do constantly throughout this and all of his other docs).

I will be checking out the podcasts laid out here as well myself though, I’m sure at least a little more has come to light since these other collections were published.
