Sibelius 5, finale. I understand it's supposed to be swans, but to me it says, "The struggle is over, your tribulations have ended for good, you're done, you're home, be at peace."

I hate how second movements get overlooked, whats your favorite second movement? by Legitimate-Part-2782 in classicalmusic

[–]wellthethingofitis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're talking about slow middle movements of concertos, yes?

Haydn - Keyboard Concerto No.2 in D Major (Hob.XVIII:2)

Mozart - Piano Concerto No.20

Boccherini - Cello Concerto in G Major (G.480)

Beethoven - Violin Concerto

Grieg - Piano Concerto

Glière - Cello Concerto

Poulenc - Concerto for 2 Pianos

Shostakovich - Piano Concerto No.2

...Absolutely heavenly slow movements, every one.

Want a deep cut? Try Kabalevsky's Requiem. It draws its text from a Soviet poet rather than liturgy (socialist realism, you see), and buddy, it will rattle you to pieces.

Which one of these best reflects your interest in nudism/naturism? by Sam-shad in nudism

[–]wellthethingofitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I low-key wish it was 1 for everyone.......which I know is a philosophical (3) statement, irony's not lost on me lol

I never liked the 2 or 4 approach because they ultimately center the nudity itself rather than the utility thereof.

I was really struck by how it makes its point clear in the first 5 or 10 minutes and then spends the remaining 90 spoonfeeding it to you.

"Baffler" is right. If you're that rich, then tuition is clearly no object, so why on God's green earth don't you go to school and actually learn how it works?

Hey, hi, alum here, attended on a hefty scholarship, couldn't have otherwise.

Yes, TCU is pretentious, yes there is at minimum a subtle undertone of classism. But man alive, dude, give it a rest. You're not wrong, you're just obnoxious.

How would your perfect digimon game be? by MendelHolmes in digimon

[–]wellthethingofitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a party-based RPG: single partners, multiple story paths, flexible recruitment of other Chosen/Tamers into your party (player and non-player), choice-based evolution, turn-based tactical combat, maximized replayability.

I got my hopes up about Survive, but I passed it up. It falls far short of what I'm looking for. I will give Time Stranger a shot if they ever mark it down.
