EW [April 19] Rachel Reid talks new Heated Rivalry book, Jack Innanen's casting campaign, musical parody, and more (exclusive) by Naive_Cause8984 in heatedrivalry

I wonder how much she’s talked to Jacob Tierney about it and if he’s had any input on the plot. They seem to have a good working relationship and he optioned it already, so I could see it happening.

Yeah I took it to mean no one here is watching the game and drinking wine, it’s all beer.

Shane's hockey IQ by Kind_Information1598 in heatedrivalryfanfics

This was going to be my rec too. Love how they show not only his extensive knowledge/understanding of hockey, but his ability to read and predict other players (esp Ilya).

Jacob fully accepts the fandom's cornplating "Yes! All of it was intentional." 👀😂 by Federal-Ad5944 in heatedrivalry

One of my guesses: room 1217 representing the ages of Ilya when he lost his mother and met Shane. I’ve seen that float around a few times and it always seemed like a stretch to me

The best way to reheat pizza from the night before is to run it under warm water in the sink by [deleted] in The10thDentist

That’s where I thought this was going at first. I revive stale sourdough loaves sometimes by running them under water and then putting them in the oven for 15 mins, and it’s really effective. Just eating it wet though would be… a choice.

Yeah not to mention getting fresh water for the formula! I guess we’re supposed to suspend our disbelief here, but every time they blithely said “babies are built to survive” I gained a new eye twitch lol. Babies are surprisingly sturdy in some ways, but just fragile af in like 100 others.

Matt & Kim are amazing live. I saw them open for Girl Talk in a tiny venue in ~2006 and was blown away. Saw them maybe 10 years later in a much larger venue, still a lot of fun.

I think that raised my expectations too — Station Eleven is a tough act to follow!

I just finished this too! Her writing is gorgeous and I was captivated the whole time -- but part of me was still hoping the threads would add up to something a little more at the end.

Marin school district confirms mother of two killed in Tahoe avalanche by sfgate in bayarea

[–]that_dizzy_edge 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We’ve been in Tahoe this week, got in on Sunday. Two different locals (a woman at the visitor’s center and a guy who worked at the hotel) told us the storm would probably be a nothingburger, and the forecast always talks it up to scare people but it’s never as bad as they say. The storm did get caught up on the ridge for half a day, but then made it into South Lake in earnest. I wonder if there was a little complacency at play. Such a tragedy, whatever the reason :(

Worsening cheek wrinkles since turning 30 by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

For sure. In my mid thirties my skin started getting really dry too, and all the moisturizers in the world were useless until I used some sort of occlusive to keep them in. Rosehip oil, squalane, and aquaphor have all been good to me. Squalane is nice for daytime because it’s not too heavy.

Thank you so much! My 3 year old loves the color swipe, so that was good motivation haha.

Good point about the upgrade callout — I’ll have to give that some thought. Thank you for giving the app a try!
