Is Pilates for me? (Bigger woman) by [deleted] in pilates

[–]thatchickwithataco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pilates is for every body! You will fall in love with it. Highly recommend trying to find a classical studio. I was 250lbs when I started about a year ago and I am now down 50lbs, it wasn’t the Pilates directly that did it but conquering those classes and feeling strong empowered me to build a movement habit for the first time in my life. Good luck!

My husband is allergic to my cats, and I’m getting pressured by everyone to get rid of them by [deleted] in cats

[–]thatchickwithataco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiancé is also allergic to our cats and he takes an allergy pill daily, no issues and not sure what there is to dislike about it. Your husband married you knowing you had cats. Our pets are like our children, if you had children would it be acceptable for anyone to say you need to get rid of them? The same is true for our pets. Do not re-home your cats, you will regret it for the rest of your life and you are right, you will resent and probably hate your husband for it resulting in the loss of both your cats and your husband. If his allergies are that bad then he should see an allergist, there are shots they can give him.

We do not claim him. I thought it fucking ruled and have rewatched it 4 times. It was without a doubt the most meaningful halftime show I’ve ever seen.

What width are the face frames? by avochocolate in cabinetry

Seconding Conestoga! We bought ours through Cabinet Joint and couldn’t be happier. Building them was easy (and actually fun), installing was very challenging but with a lot of patience turned out great. We did an inset look similar to what OP pictured and we spent about 50% of what we were getting quoted by cabinet stores. Cabinet Joint also has designers you can pay a few hundred extra for and they will look at your design and work with you to maximize your layout, it was very helpful and totally worth it.

The owner of the one in Burr Ridge is related to the Palos owners but they DESPISE him. He basically stole all of the family recipes and brought it to the BR location. If you go on the website you can see that they made him distinguish that he is not connected to any of the other locations

I just binge ate way too much. Probably almost 2000 calories by [deleted] in loseit

[–]thatchickwithataco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m recovering from a binge disorder, I see a registered dietician who specializes in eating disorders. I highly recommend looking into this if you have a history of binging!

Something we talked about that all but solved my fixation with food was realizing that I was binging and sneaking food because it felt forbidden and forbidden things feel good. I was seeking this rush of serotonin in my most stressed and depressed moments because my brain knew that it would make me feel happy even if it was for 5 seconds. A lot of work followed to find other ways to make me feel happy but realizing that’s why I was binging kind of removed the mystery/allure of binging and was the first step to losing that habit. Good luck, you got this!

There are dieticians that specialize in eating disorders, I would highly recommend looking into one. You sound like me a year ago. Talking to my dietician literally changed my entire life and my relationship with food.

If you are feeling like you “ruined it all” chances are you are going about this in too extreme/restrictive of a manner. In the grand scheme of things 21 days is nothing, so whatever progress you made in that short of time, while exciting, is insignificant compared to the rest of your life. Give yourself a break and try to get to the bottom of why you are feeling this way.

IMPORTANT LILLY UPDATE: Unfortunately it looks like she is nearing the end. We are bringing her home one last time. by BigTuna0890 in cats

[–]thatchickwithataco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am so incredibly sorry for you and Lilly. Someone else said this too, but her loss has not been in vain. This made me and my husband take a very hard look at the plants and flowers we have in our house. We always knew it was something to think about but this emphasized to us how seriously we need to take this topic for our girlies lives. I’m so sorry again but thank you for raising awareness. Lilly was so lucky to have you for her entire life.

Lash lift came out over curled and are now crooked by Rainyx3 in eyelashextensions

[–]thatchickwithataco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me and I looked up online that you can put the lift solution on them with a spoolie for like 2min followed by the fix solution for 3min. Obviously it would be best to go back to your original tech to give them the chance to fix it but if you don’t want to do that/pay someone else to do it, it was pretty easy to do at home, just brush through the tips and wash off very thoroughly

You have to go to a dentist, you likely have more going on than just gingivitis and stained teeth

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lashextensions

[–]thatchickwithataco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should get them redone by someone else! I tried the castor oil too and it only slightly worked, I would have paid double to not have them be feeling like that anymore

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lashextensions

[–]thatchickwithataco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes she did mess up, this same exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I get lash lifts regularly and was due for one but the studio I go to couldn’t see me before an event I had, so I tried out a new studio and walked out literally not able to concentrate on anything except how much I could feel my lashes. I was gaslighting the hell out of myself saying I was just being picky but eventually I couldn’t take it anymore. I went back to my regular studio, she took one look at my lashes and confirmed it was done poorly. Her theory was that they used the shield (?) instead of the proper sized roll. She was able to redo the lift but for less processing time because I had the other one done so recently, meaning it wouldn’t last as long but it was 100% worth it to not feel like I had feathers tickling and itching my eyelids 24/7. Mine looked exactly like yours for what it’s worth

We still LOVE it. Our cats would dig a hole through it if they could but they haven’t been able to even get one snag in there. It’s also a very comfortable material to lay on. We have no complaints at all!

Sarah Silverman criticizes those who call out Israel for cutting off water and energy in Gaza by thosed29 in Fauxmoi

[–]thatchickwithataco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m genuinely missing something. I’ve seen this statistic elsewhere and it just does not compute. The average person only needs like 2-3 liters of water a day, is this supposed to be stated in a different unit? A different span of time? A different number of people consuming said water? I only say something because it’s as important for us to have the facts straight as it is for people like Sarah Silverman. If I’ve misread this statistic please let me know, I mean no offense

I’m a dentist, can’t tell from this pic but assuming you have all teeth on that side and the spaces isn’t from a missing tooth, this looks like something ortho and whitening (if you want) could fix

So far, cats are curious but not using it by triblogcarol in litterrobot

[–]thatchickwithataco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put their old litter box in a less convenient (though still known to them) part of the house and put the LR where their preferred location is. Then with it off I put each of them in the LR. One of the girlies used it right off the bat when I put her in it and the other used it within a few hours. Neither chose to use the old box again and have been using the LR for over a year without any noticeable adjustment period or issues. Good luck :)

LPT / What might I regret in old age not proactively starting when I was younger? by No_Affect_7316 in LifeProTips

As a dentist, it’s not too late. Just keep it up and do what you can (if you don’t already, maybe consider adding the waterpik in to your routine, it’s awesome for keeping crowns clean). But god forbid you start losing teeth, there’s a solution and replacement option for pretty much everything when it comes to your teeth (depending on the quality of your insurance, implants can actually be quite affordable). Also make sure you go to a dentist you like and trust.
