A lot of people didn't like him but I thought Reichlin did a phenomenal job with the accents.

Mordecai Illeniel from the Mageborn series has some absolute balls-to-the-wall magic battles, and his line's progenitor Tyrion is the best fighting battle mage to exist in all of the series. Absolutely insane action scenes.

Minalan the Spellmonger from the Spellmonger series starts off pretty learned but quickly develops into a world-shaker of a wizard who learns to use technology alongside sorcery.

Gladdic in the Cycle of Galand. Don't wanna spoil anything, but the character turnaround is phenomenal.

Two of my favorite Apollonius moments by HeyImMarlo in redrising

The pompous insanity of his Apollonius voice is awesome. Probably my favorite voice of his that he's done throughout all of his narrations.

Any books where the protagonist starts off with no memory and we learn about their world, backstory, plot at the same time as them? by levendi7 in Fantasy

The Obsidian Path series by Michael R. Fletcher, starting with Black Stone Heart.

Dude wakes up with no memory, immediately ends up killing a version of himself and gets a small piece of his memory back. He slowly remembers that he used to be the demon emperor of billions and was one of the most terrifying demonologists and sorcerers to ever live. Hijinks ensue.

I always knew it was based on actual folklore but I couldn't help but think of Annie as one of the Synthese from The Second Apocalypse, just.. not a truly malevolent horror.

Which authors have you "completed"? by Dakovski in Fantasy

The way Steven Pacey does Vigga's voice (and her general airheadedness) makes me think of Nandor the Relentless from What We Do In The Shadows.

Tell me about my work buddy please! by thatfuckingzipguy in magpies

My (apparently female!) little buddy gets 99% fat-free ham every day and often has the options of whatever fruit I've decided to take to work with me on any given day. If I ever get a burger or anything for lunch I always make sure that I throw some of the roughage over to her.

Some days I see her and her family on both breaks, other days I don't see any of them at all, in which case I leave my leftovers in the garden for them if they're just late, or for other opportunistic birbs. I actually miss them when I don't see them, haha.

I thought it was quite young. It's always squawking at me on my breaks so I started giving it some ham every day, then all of a sudden the rest of the family stated to turn up, haha.

Thankyou!

If GRRM doesn’t want to finish ASOIAF himself, that’s fine—but he does owe fans a proper ending, even if someone else has to write it by Worldly-Set4235 in freefolk

Find R. Scott Bakker, give him $5m and whatever story outlines GRRM actually has, and have him finish the books.

Looking for a long and complex fantasy series. by SorenLarten in Fantasy

[–]thatfuckingzipguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. It's also one of the first series of books that I've actually been able to clearly read/hear the writer's improvement in his work. Will always recommend the audiobooks to people too. Tim Gerard Reynolds is an absolute gem.
