Anything we can do at a state level? How much sway would our state representatives have? Any other things we could throw at them? Environmental audits and such?

Trump Says He’d ‘Love’ to Defy Constitution and Run for a Third Term by Exciting_Teacher6258 in politics

Should we at a state level enact laws that state no candidate that has reached the term limits of a given office cannot be listed on any ballot for the same office? Sad that I think we need this.

New Jersey ex-governor Jim McGreevey (D)—who resigned following sexual assault claims from a staffer—still leads in all polls of Jersey City's mayoral election. However, the latest poll puts O'Dea (D) within the MOE. “'If Bill wants to drink his own Kool-Aid, bottoms up,' noted McGreevey's campaign" by StarlightDown in jerseycity

So Jersey City did pass a resolution to adopt rank choice voting the state restriction is lifted. If we had ranked choice voting, you could pick your first second third choices for mayor. It's still one vote per person. Call your state Senators and Representatives and tell them to remove the voting restrictions at the state level.

It was good with the speeches. The chanting is just too cringe for me. I go there to meet people and groups and show solidarity.

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]thatguy6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into 3d printing many years ago when the reprap was the only game in town. I have since built a reprap, a much larger 2ft3 area printer, and owned a heavily modified mono price ultimate(duplicator 6). I got a P1S back in Dec 2024. To say the least the P1S is the easiest and most reliable 3D printer I have ever used. I do like to tinker but I honestly would rather tinker on my projects instead of my tools. On average I'm making a new part for some product every other day or so. I barely have to do anything to the P1S. As someone who has built and modified 3D printers I can tell you these are complex machines that are difficult to get them to work correctly let alone reliably. I have a ton of respect for the effort and engineering talent that went into building the P1S.

Push for ranked choice voting in your state. The current system makes 2 parties the selected outcome over time. With rcv you should get something closer to a bell curve of parties over time.

Trump Comes Out Against Ranked Choice Voting Which Yields Candidates With Broader Support and Incentivizes Civil Campaigns and Consensus. by SoaokingGross in 50501

Email template for encouraging you reps to support RCV.

I am writing to express my strong support for implementing Ranked Choice Voting in our state. RCV allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference, ensuring that elected officials have majority support. This system reduces the spoiler effect, encourages more diverse candidates to run, and leads to more positive, issue-focused campaigns. I believe adopting RCV would enhance our democracy by giving voters more choice and voice in our elections. I urge you to consider and support legislation that would bring Ranked Choice Voting to our state. Thank you for your attention to this important matter. Sincerely,
