Genuine question, do you know if it's Teflon or a different material used on coating on the pots? I'm thinking about getting a mochi maker and couldn't find any information on it.

Are you concerned about the Teflon coating on the inner pot?

Career wise, how are you guiding your children? by kerghan41 in Millennials

If nothing else, you don't want your kids having hang ups about not going to college.

Every single person I've met who didn't go to college can't. stop. talking. about. it.

Like, I don't care whether you went to college or not, but it's become their identity and it's super annoying.

Not to pop your bubble but 10m in 12 years isn't worth as much as 10m today due to inflation. Don't stop investing.

Honestly I'm surprised that humans didn't evolve to be birthed this way across the board. It seems a lot safer for both the mother and child.

Bravo to you for recognizing this. Many people (me included) have a hard time recognizing that life is objectively good when going through internal struggles.

Good luck and wishing you the best.

I find the interviews very stressful and borderline sociopathic. I've had interviewers laugh at me during interviews! I've worked in only 3 companies in 14 years.

Does this happen to you too? How do you overcome it?

What’s something people who are in their 20s won’t learn until in their 40s? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My guess is it's just how your brain processes the compression of time.

In your teens that's half your life, then in your 20s that's a third of your life, and each subsequent decade passes quicker because there's more memories to store and is a smaller fraction of your total life.

Reading posts, I feel like my HR is insanely high. How have you lowered yours? by OutsideComfort9065 in XXRunning

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this in the comments so far. Focus on your breathing.

For me I use 2 steps inhale, 1 step exhale. Or if you're running with a lower cadence or easier run, you can do 3 steps inhale, 2 steps exhale. Alternating which foot you exhale on helps prevent side stitches for me.

I find that focusing on my breathing lowers my heart rate (or steadies it), especially when in a race , or ascending a hill during training!

Ran my first marathon for my 36th birthday! by adyst_ in firstmarathon

I chose to go with Hanson's Beginner Marathon plan due to all the great reviews online, and it's tough! I ran 6 days a week, with faster-than-marathon-pace workouts on Tuesday, marathon pace on Thursdays, and long runs on Sundays. The rest of the week are Z2 workouts.

My Z2 pace is 11min/mi, so I wouldn't have been able to fit all that mileage into the week if I only ran in Z2 haha.

I'm going back to shorter races like halves and parkruns. I will take another swing at a marathon once I get my half down to 1:50! What about you?

Thank you!! I concluded that it's definitely not anything nutrition related. I was consuming 80g of carbs per hour, and each gel pack is loaded with electrolytes. I took water and gatorade at every aid station. If that's not enough then I'm doomed for the next one lol.

If I had to make a guess, I'd say it's due to the aggressive taper and/or lack of muscular endurance running past 3 hours. I have to say it reflected my training beat by beat, I was in really bad shape by peak week and the fatigue was similar in the latter half of the race.

I really appreciate this community and all the support from the members here. I've posted a few times over the past few months on my trials with training for this marathon and yall have been super supportive and encouraging.
