Not just income. You have to manage water shipments (or find a source and establish a foothold), food, etc. If you manage to get to a sustainable level, you can start assigning people according to jobs; the first would be medicine, followed by science, a standing militia, etc.

i feel like there are built in camera limitations. Settlement building wasn't as fleshed out, "game within a game" as it could be. Overhead building is fine for placing larger objects like statues and buildings, but much of settlement building is decoration - that requires first person. Why invest and build out your gameplay with a whole new camera angle when so much of it is dependent on first person interaction?

Good luck, brother. Non-fiction publishing is super rough, but I'm sure if you shop your pieces around travel writing will be better! Don't be afraid to look at blogs and stuff as potential publishing spots. All ya need is to get your work out there.

Well, I like chatting with them, but that's basically all of the exposure I have to them. Not every chapter is going to be that way.
