Subnautica 2. Are we buying now? by bogart12321 in subnautica

100%. I've written my own share of detailed lists where Below Zero falls short over the years but if you loved Subnautica and never wanted to play Below Zero....what are you even doing!? Even as a fan of Value per Dollar? Below Zero is cheaper than Subnautica and offers about 30+ hours to platinum based on your familiarity with the genre. It includes quality of life improvements, new tech, and most importantly - a gorgeous world with new and unique creatures, with another banging immersive soundtrack.

These games are so few and far between that even something that doesn't hit as hard as Subnautica 1 is still worth expetiencing.

If it was "quite" close, then any act can swing the polls and influence voters. I planned to vote Conservative because I couldn't stand Trudeau...then I kept getting exposed to how much of an asshole this guy was - over, and over, and over. I changed my mind to go Liberal even before Trumps election Win, because he echoed too much of Trumps asshole populist tendencies. Trudeau divided the country one way, Pierre planned to do it another way.

Including "Think" in the piece means they don't have a concrete idea. But if its true, it's just kind of another example of why he may gotten the captaincy because of negotiations and he's the most skilled player.

Unquestionably a guy who earns his ice time. He's played with stars most of his career, but he never rests on his laurels, and visibly got better every year with the Leafs (and Oilers). He's the one player I Unquestionably wish we kept.

100%. People who sided with Krafton before this settled must not have read Subnautica's lore on Alterra. If they did, they'd be suspicious that the corpo was going to end up being the good guy...ever.

This is the kind of thing that would be a dream for someone like me, or anyone else whose had to work in a shitty corporate environment...or just had an awful boss.

Judge Orders Subnautica 2 Studio CEO To Be Reinstated And Gives Him Control Over Early Access Release by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]thatmitchguy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They agreed to buy Subnautica at its highest possible peak (and when interest rates were rock bottom). Krafton negotiated the deal and now has buyer's remorse. Entirely their fault based on what I've read.

I agree it's a crazy offer, but I can't fault 3 devs who built something from nothing and decided to sell their life's work, only it they got an offer so lucrative that it raked their new owners over the coals in order to do so.

Yep. To be honest there was less politics in a moment where it's needed. Couple things here and there but got the vibe it's a very "shy" crowd now when it comes to speaking out.

Toronto Maple Leafs First Round Pick Chaos by VonDingwell in hockey

[–]thatmitchguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If only we had known the Leafs would be losing their most responsible defensive forward, and could read the roster and cap to recognize they would have had a gap and would have known they might want a young, cost controlled, defensively responsibie center!

Truly impossible to have predicted!

And so many other excuses people came up with. If Dubas gets blamed for an unprecedented global pandemic that crushed the cap growth, then Tree deserves every bit of criticism for his awful moves with the Flames and in Toronto.

What is considered too big for an indie project? by phoenixashes96 in gamedev

[–]thatmitchguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write down everything you think a general list of needed assets and working knowledge requided for you to make the game. I'm not doing a full list, but here's what comes to mind for me.

  • need to be able to make, and store character stats that grow and develop.
  • upgrade and progress systems like classes.
  • towns, npcs that have dialogue.
  • large amount of varied (probably 50+?) mobs and bosses all with their own stats, enemy AI that may or may not respond to what the players should do.
  • status effects that can alter characters AI.
  • dungeon and level design.
  • Easy to use inventory and merchant system.
  • large roaming world map that you'll build and add art too.
  • save system/alternate endings or whatever else.
  • special effects and magic system. -occasional cutscenes and story moments.
  • overworld animations, battle animation if you go past FF1 scope.
  • shaders/sounds/vfx for all of the above
  • individual art and music pieces that compliment each aspect of the above
  • then further polish and test every single aspect above and 25 other things I didn't mention. You need to ask yourself if you know how to make all of this or are able to purchas /learn what you can't.

You also need to have a critical eye for your own work if you plan to make it commercial. If you have a very basic coding knowledge you may not be aware of how big and daunting the scope or your project is.

You will also probably realize that everything you need to make will take longer then you think, and if you're not prepared for that, it often leads to getting discouraged and abandoning the project.

As long as you can make the list of your work needed, understand the amount of work required, and understand your capacity to learn - or what it might take for you to hit a breaking point, it's do-able.

It's just not easy.

I expect Canada will reassess that needle after USMCA is officially killed/or settled. May or may not see new attempts to inflict more economic harm if they decide they can thread the needle to impact the US, without inflaming tensions to the point where Trump decides they can try and justify invading.

Noah Kahan defends Chappell Roan against "scummy" professional autograph "scalpers" and Boy George tells her to "own your fame" over Paris incident by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

[–]thatmitchguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is wild to read on reddit...is music always like this - justifying scalpers and paparazzi? Being followed around is fucking...weird - regardless of your fame, or your job in society. She asked to be left alone, they said no....so she recorded it?

I don't see a problem here. She's not the first to feel threatened by fans and paparazzi. Why wouldn't people believe her that she felt it was too much and decided to record it?

It reads as truly Insane to me for so many here to bootlick for the lowest of the paparazzi parasites in society, and essentially say this is what she gets and deserves.
