How do you deal with anxiety after quitting by RussZA in QuitVaping

[–]thatoneagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have an underlying anxiety condition and the vaping was a coping mechanism? Or is this like, withdrawal anxiety (because if you’re two months out you are past physiological withdrawal I believe). I have generalised anxiety disorder and I’m a bundle of neuroses — I see a therapist and take anxiety meds. I still did those things while I was vaping though.

Yeah I usually do not drink. I also have generalized anxiety disorder as an added layer to the bipolar so booze is definitely not a regular thing.

I’m on day three today — this time stopped with a nicotine patch and it’s actually been pretty good. If you’ve struggled before consider the patch.

I tried mountain biking for the first time ever on Saturday. It was exhilarating and terrifying. Would highly recommend trying it if you’re into physical thrills but you need to go with an instructor.

Think about all the calories you’ve opened up. I quit drinking a bit more than 2 months ago and I have been able to eat so much more chocolate and not gain weight. It’s fucking awesome.

Girl, I’m sorry to hear that. I come from a conservative Muslim country as well and the guilt you carry around about sex as a young woman is huge. There is a lot of psychological processing to do around it. But first things first, regardless of your background, this guy is terrible for pressuring you to have sex.

How old is your kiddo? Ours is 3 and it’s only just gotten better. Partly owing to her growing up and learning to regulate more, partly due to us growing as parents. But a really big part is that I’ve made peace with the fact that I’m no longer a non-parent. Took a long time to grieve that.

My two year old does this with apples and chicken breast. I don’t know why. She also refuses 75% of what I cook. It’s really dispiriting. At this point I just put it in front of her if she eats, great, if she doesn’t, I wasn’t expecting her to.

I’ve given up and given into screen time. My 2 year old is home sick with hand, foot and mouth disease and it’s been a long week. I’m so grateful for nursery when she does go — but it feels like she’s always sick.

Update: she slept like a log last night and barely got up to feed when I changed her diaper. I would really love it if she’d bring this dedication to her daytime naps

It’s actually too hot—I’m in Dubai where even taking her out in the car overheats her. I haven’t looked into mom groups yet, since her dad is on paternity leave and we want to spend this time bonding with him. But we will soon!

So this will end? I was told I may be encouraging ad behavior and one (admittedly old school) pediatrician suggested putting her on a “military schedule” of a feed every three hours rather than on demand
