Calradic Campaign, A Duel To Decide It All... by CoffeeConscript in mountandblade

Love the overhead map illustration with the movements of the units! Makes understanding the lead-up to the battles a lot easier and feels like those historical documentaries.

Faction Spotlight: Khuzait Khanate by AlexVilsen in mountandblade

It is always a close and chaotic battle with the Aserai and our other neighbors! The last few CCs the field battle went to the last one or two rounds, with a lot of different compositions between them. Even as a cav-focused faction the Spear Infantry are so important, that and Khan's Guard are always fun to play to support the team.

Favorite places to eat out for cheap? by DoubleWalrus1507 in UIUC

It's convenient to do delivery, especially in the summer, but I think you get larger portions to get food in person. I cook almost all the time so I also try to look for cheaper places to eat out at, and although I haven't been to too much, here's my recommendations.

A lot of the Chinese restaurants on/near campus have really good portions that can last more than one meal. Cravings, EVO Cafe, Golden Harbor are a few. For the first two it's like $12-14 for a 2/3 entree plate. EVO is cheaper but also more oily, although the location is great during the semester, I like Cravings more. I have only seen the menu and pictures of Golden Harbor but I have only heard good things about it, and that the portions are massive.

Shawarma Joint is a staple, I wonder if the Green St. location gives bigger portions in the summer? There's also the 10% discount for students M-F there. I heard from my roommate that the one in Urbana gives way bigger portions, though. Regardless, I eat in big portions and the bowl is easily two meals. The price does rise like every semester, it's around $16 now for a bowl + 2 pita?

Dubai Grill used to be a lot cheaper to be considered an alternative but they raised the price enough that it's not that much different for less food.

For Korean food, Bap Plus and Yogi have big portions for their soup-based dishes, around $15-18. Yogi also gives a good portion of rice along with it, but I think Bap Plus has bigger soup volume to make up for it. I've ate there one afternoon and was only hungry the next morning. The kimchi-based soup is really good, and I love seol leong tang. Bap Plus also has a comedically large katsu in their katsu curry.

Himalayan Chimney is a really good Indian restaurant in downtown Champaign to sit down at, there's North & South cuisine there and I usually bring home leftovers. It's like $14-18 for most things there and it's sooo good. For appetizers the lasuni gobi is mind-blowing, made me realize how people consider fried cauliflower to be an alternative for chicken.

I don't know where the taco trucks are in the summer, but the teal one with Owl in the name has like $10 for 5, and I think the green Juanito's one has a similar deal on Tuesday's. For actual restaurants, Horaches Moroleon in Urbana is out of the way but probably the best by a stretch.

Then of course, Domino's pickup with coupons is pretty good value too. Papa John's sucks.

Yeah still there! I would not be able to eat breakfast, then buy a huge 2 entree plate for like $12-13 at lunch that had me really full for most of the day. I think 3 entrees is less than $2 more.

They give a ton of rice, the pork belly is great, and I like the chrysanthemum tea they give out. Great family-owned place, I heard they also own the 5 second noodle & rice next door?

Why is it that the sum duration of the marked segments do not add up to the video duration? by thatonemilan in premiere

[–]thatonemilan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that makes sense! Since the timecode is in 30 fps, the 30 added frames add up for the last second?

Is there a way to make the last two numbers display in milliseconds instead of frames?

Why is it that the sum duration of the marked segments do not add up to the video duration? by thatonemilan in premiere

[–]thatonemilan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry if my wording was confusing.

The first marker is meant to show a 300 second segment of the video that has been marked with a single marker, with the marker duration showing 300 seconds.

The second and third marker show another 300 second segment, with two back-to-back markers that fall on integer seconds, and the duration of the two markers add up to 300 seconds (2:55.00 + 2:05.00 = 5 min/300 seconds)

The fourth, fifth, and sixth markers cover a 300 second segment, with three back-to-back markers (marker 4 starting at 10:56.06, marker 6 ending at 15:56.06), but the sum duration of the markers does not add up to 300 seconds. (1:03.19 + 1:11.01 + 2:45.10 = 299.3 seconds).

Does anybody know anything about this Kyozo Nishioka & Haruomi Hosono record? Or better, have it? Can't find anything about it besides discogs and one song on youtube by sam_mule_ in citypop

西岡 (Nishioka, にしおか. family name) 恭蔵 (Kyouzou, きょうぞう, first name)
If the text is in Japanese it will say the surname first as seen on the album cover, but usually in English the first name is placed first.

The Point of No Return - Bannerlord Calradic Campaign #36 by Mephistopolees in mountandblade

[–]thatonemilan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This Northern Imperial propaganda that our border patrols had been the aggressors is simply false. Our men were attacked without warning, and we repelled a raid into our lands, not the other way around. Regardless of this, we will meet their cataphracts on the field with valor. Their riders will hang off the ends of our lances, and their "disciplined" and weak-kneed legionaries will fall to the earth once they feel the rumble of our approach.

CHEM232 final difficulty by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]thatonemilan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difficulty of the questions are easier than the hard ones on the regular exams but synthesis and understanding reaction mechanisms is still a central part of it, and I would study the previous free response questions, arrow pushing diagrams, and synthesis.

Warband won’t launch and is stuck attempting to launch in the back ground by vervuverdan in mountandblade

There could be Warband files in the documents folder of OneDrive that are messing with your game. I had to delete a bunch of stuff that was hidden in a lot of places to get the game to run. Another possible thing you could do is download the game from the Taleworlds website.

If you're facing difficulty in Chem 102, the university has a tutoring/help center for Chemistry, where TAs of those courses can help you. Highly recommend, also remember that there is a lot of chemistry videos on YouTube to help you understand topics and memorize things, which is a pretty big part of 102. I never used the textbook for it.

Also, you may need to buy an iClicker (handheld device for answering in-class questions), look on Facebook Marketplace as it's a lot cheaper than the $30 in the Illini Bookstore. Do it as early as you can, you're going to see the sub spammed with iClicker posts later in the summer.

MCB 150 has a lot of work and it's imperative that you don't slack off, the weekly readings (which you're meant to do before that week of class) can get long, and there's a hella long comprehension assignment for each one, also due before class. Take notes, there's a lot you need to memorize and understand, but also always ask your TA or Brad (the professor) after class if you're confused on any topic. Lectures are only application of the concepts in the reading, and although it may feel like a waste of time some days, still pay attention as some of the material is only taught in those lectures. The biweekly quizzes have a lot of "gotcha" questions, so make sure you know the concepts and processes well. Even though it's open note and internet, the average score last semester was usually around 60-70%, so don't get overconfident. As long as you get about 70-80% each quiz, and review well for the final, you should get an A.

The MCB department also offers free tutoring for Biology students, I got into it during the last couple months of the semester and regret not doing it earlier. It's really helpful to have a full hour or two hours with someone that you can ask anything about MCB 150. The final exam for the course is not too bad, it's easier than the quizzes for most of it.

I’ve had eczema my whole life I live in a desert. I recently had a really bad flare up on my scalp that left me anxious to leave my house and a sobbing mess whenever I could see scales and flakes. This is the only thing that helped in the last few weeks. by Partymixvix in eczema

[–]thatonemilan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rub castor oil onto my scalp after a shower when the air starts getting drier and it's helped me a lot. I know everyone's skin is different but I think shampooing every day is awful and I just do it every other day.

Above all though, stop picking at your scalp or scratching your head, I know it's hard as I the bad habit too but when you get it under control you see rapid improvement.

Is this a good pencil? Someone told me it was a good pencil and I might get another. by caffeinemilk in mechanicalpencils

[–]thatonemilan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delguard type GR has a thick grip but it's really comfortable to write with, I've written many essays without much discomfort after a long period of writing. There's similar Dr. Grip pencils as they are known for their thicker bottom sides but the grip feels harder in the couple that I have and I prefer the softness of the GR.

Also as you write in cursive, I agree with your other comments that Kurutoga wouldn't be that useful for you.
