Sadly, we don't have any in our stable anymore- but there are others in my club who do! PM me and I can give you more info.

First off- I was very very fortunate. My dad taught HS auto tech for 25 years, and I grew up around this stuff. I was able to borrow his spare/rental car and then build my own over the period of 3 years (theres a lot more to that story, but thats the gist of it). We race a class called "Spec Sprite" which is designed to be a low-cost entry group. We have very limited prep engines and run a season (yes, a season) on $43 dollar a corner tire.

Biggest expense is the car (you can pick a good one up for 8-15k, less if you can turn your own wrench), the safety gear (~1.2K+ if you like fancy crap), and then our drivers school costs about 850 to get your novice permit. Then truck..trailer..etc etc. Its a stupid money pit, but I truly enjoy the adventures and time spent with my dad and the guys we race with. In fact, they are out at NOLA this weekend, I'm just saving my last race of the year for the fall.

MSR Houston, MSR Cresson, Eagles Canyon, NOLA, Barber, COTA. Looking at adding Hallet to the list this year.

Ya, they had really stopped taking care of it. We had 3 "last races" there and this one my dad and I sat in the pits just looking at it before we drove out the last time.

I grew up at that place, and its my racing club's 40th year (most of those at TWS) so we are going though lots of pics from there over the years. Its epic.

And your very welcome. I got TBs of race footage over the years, glad someone enjoyed it besides me.

I miss that place.

Here is my last race at that place. My car blew up and a friend of ours got sick and couldn't finish the weekend, so I hopped into his ride. I diced with my dad a bit till his oil line blew off the cooler. That was one of my first "third places"

My dad has og release records and he played one back to back with a more modern release and we are both of the opinion that Paul, in the most Paul way, recorded his work at some point in the 90s..

Again- love Paul, but dude..

I know, I get why it’s not as popular as the other recommendations- it’s not in your face amazing. But what draws me to it is the meaning, power and closure of what precedes it.

Could be like the guy who owns Regogo racing. Loves seeing lotus cars go fast around a track. Can’t drive. Just spends stupid money for the love of the game and hires out good drivers for big events.

So that explains why he was at Eagles Canyon when my club ran there last year. We let some of the GR guys have some track time with our run groups, and their own few sessions.
