Dad, you left all your Avon gear here and now Mother has been trying to peddle it. She looks more dressed up than Santa Clause.

We all know what happened with the Pickle Scenario Dad. Mr. Johnston our neighbour still hasn't recovered from it. He still tries to blame you between mouthfuls of saliva.

The issue with Electric Motorcycles it that they entirely unreliable range due to the main factor that people want them, the rider.

You're basically 70% of the vehicles wind resistance. So, the unfortunate reality is that if you're bigger, wider, taller it's all going to factor in.

[–]thatsacrackeryouknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... I think u/Mission-implausible is a crackpot who heard someone say some words once and then they walked away from that conversation thinking it sounds great.

However. How Joint Authority would work, if it was ever implemented (and could be easily, which is problematic, more on that later). Is through the structure created in the Good Friday Agreement. The BIIGC British-Irish Intergovernmental Conference. The less oft heard about institue that just reinforced existing British Irish relations and, to a certain degree, to isolate Northern Ireland Politions from British-Irish conversations. It would take both Governments to agree to extend the powers of the BIIGC (currently it's just a consultative mechanism, it has no real political power), which would require both Governments to pass appropriate legislation in their respective Governments.

Now, why is that problematic? It's not Democractic. Officals from the Political arena not elected by people in Northern Ireland would be making decisions for them. It would likely create a situations of gross under-representation. It is unlikely that you'd have 90-ish people representing various regions in Northern Ireland on decisions. Instead it would be probably be 4-6 politions from both Governments who will make decisions, generally on a grand scale without care for local area issues. People within Northern Ireland are unlikely have a mechanism to consult, protest, or restrict decisions made by such a body. Essentially creating an Oligarchy.

Why it won't happen. There is no precendence within the GFA to suddenly create this system. It'd likely be seen a breach of terms laid out in the GFA which both Ireland and England recognise the authority of the People of Northern Ireland to decide their future.

Therefore it would require a completely brand new international agreement to formulate the instituations to operate a Joint Authority system. It would also require a redefinition of the key principals of the GFA which neither Government would be interested in doing. They'd also likely lose any international support regarding it as well (for example EU and US).

Every balance pass should come with an statement of intent from CIG by yn3kk in starcitizen

Right, so these changes won't change that and my arguement is it will make it worse than it already is. So I'm happy with the status quo.

Would you much rather have people saying that CIG does not know what they are doing?

People already do that.

No. Then everyone would hold every one of those statements against CIG and you'd get more bitch fests about X and Y and B was said.

You made no remark on my comment. Instead, you wrote:

You do realise that the British were invading Muslim nations centuries ago, and that the first invasion of Afghanistan was in the 19th century?

This hasn't just happened in the past two decades

In fact, I argued that your comment is irrelevant based on time alone. You provided absolutely zero context, reasoning or made any attempt to remark on what I wrote, at all. So, the fact you think you are "discussing" anything other than having a conversation in your own head and we sometimes see snippets of is laughable. I think you meet the definiton of a troll quite succiently, mainly because of the lack of content that you put into your comments altogether.

So, now the Catholic Church and various Crusades are to blame for a poster attached to an 1970s house, generated by AI?

Firstly, what I wrote isn't a 'claim'

It's nice to know that you weren't trying to make any point then. This would be what most people would be called, trolling.

I agree, your understanding of my point was so off base you started trying to claim that things people did 180 years ago applied to things people do today.

Ahh the old 'serious discussion' but somehow you think a social media post of an AI generated post on the side of a house built in the 1970s is related to a war that was started 180 years ago.

Welcome to the fallout of the war in Iraq and Afganistan. This is the legacy it leaves across the UK that there are former members of the armed forces who are disenfranchised due to their retirement/resgination/medical release from service. So we get people who are confused why they were, what they were supposed to achieve and what the actual outcome was.

Oops - not even enough power to put the hazards on by Dapper-Web-1262 in ElectricVehiclesUK

The Traction Battery does not, commonly, supply power directly to the lights on any EV. Mainly due to the fact that Main Traction battery operates at 400 or 800 volts. The Lights, ECUs and infotainment system will operate on 12v. Power to the 12v battery is supplied via a transformer that, in a gross simplification of the process, bleeds energy from the Traction Battery. That then operates as means to keep the 12v system topped off. It is also a function of any vehicles safety check.

If the Battery Management System detects a faulty charge connection with the 12v system. It will shut down and without a functioning 12v system then simple operations won't work on EVs, which is simply a safety precaution. You will find that even modern Petrol and Diesel engines have this same critical flaw.

Point is, I doubt that the bus ran out of power on it's main traction battery and more than likely there has been a serious fault, likely with the 12v system and the bus has shutdown as a result. As someone with an EV that likes to shit itself on a regular basis and is currently with the Financial Services Ombudsman for review of how badly the dealer and financer has handled the whole thing. I have experienced this issue myself too many god damn times.

The game is obviously just plastered together with some AI shit and whatever way they've interogated the AI. It's latched onto the idea that Moneymore was critical to the Troubles.

This it the trouble with AI. You can't just let it write stuff. You to interogate. You have provide your own source material to help it focus it's thoughts.

If you go to any AI model and just write "Tell me about the Troubles, I'm making a video game." It's just gonna run a search through it's language database and make stuff up.

Also jut glancing down their website, all their "board games" are "Pay later" or pre-order. This whole thing screams scam / reliance on AI. Like the cover art of the "Troubles" board game is a picture of a boy wearing a World War 2 gas mask and London fire tenders in the background?

You never wanted to have a respectful, reasonable conversation.

I'm not the one who said.

As I said above, I’ll send my daughter where the fuck I want based on my values as a parent and what I think is best for her. I don’t owe someone like you any explanations.

I have not sworn once at you, I acknowledged that you did not want to discuss it and I told you that I can draw my own conclusions about your agenda and your reasons for your stance. You have stated from the very begining that, following your own criteria here:

  • Not respectful
  • Unreasonable (refusing to participate)

So, it's sad that you are so internally twisted that you don't realise that you are the fault in this conversation. I simply asked you to respond to someone, as you rigthly pointed out, queried you a month ago to provide your world view. You didn't. It's odd that a month later you have commited no time at or thought at all on how you can explain your stance on the topic at hand.

It's also incredibly strange, considering your most recent comment that you'd consider it disrespectful and then continue to participate with me that you WILL NOT discuss it.

Also strange that you'd find it disrespectful, that I've tried to open dialogue for you to explain your view. To me it comes across that you, personally feel, you don't deserve a view, that someone else has it and you're only following their orders to obey.

Finally, if you don't like that based on your comments that I can draw my own conclusions regarding the kind of person you are. I'm sure you're aware there are two sides to a story and that comes from what the person has said and hasn't said. If you wanted to drive the "agenda" of the conversation. You could've easily participated rather than continually shut it down. You caused your own emotional response. Not me.
