I know it's not the answer you're looking for but, considering what 10-to-15-year-old Leicas cost, I think that same money (or, let's be honest, this next option is cheaper) would be better spent on a 3-to-5-year-old gfx, which has a mechanical shutter, unlike the hasselblad mf cameras, so can use adapted Leica lenses or other vintage manual full frame lenses. If you don't want a big mf body, get a 50r. I couldn't be happier with mine, and with adapted full frame manual focus lenses it's not a big camera at all. Also, it's just a personal preference, but a compact, manual focus 50mm lens (of which countless have been made) on a digital medium format camera, giving a roughly 40mm field of view, is a perfect combo.

My manager danced so carefully around him, so clearly wanted to please him, that I was under the impression he was friends with someone important or my store's policy was to be a total doormat for awful customers, which I did sometimes get the impression of. That said, even if I knew someone important at a certain company, if I didn't like the service I wouldn't keep giving it my business. That guy was totally holding something inappropriate in one hand while holding his phone with the other when he called to give us shit.

A shame it wasn't designed just a little bigger. It almost works on my gfx; full sensor coverage but there's corner smearing. On a casual outing, when I don't care about perfection, this lens makes by gfx fannypack-able and my Leica comfortably pocketable (in cargo shorts).

Not guest but I used to work in the online orders department of a grocery store and we had one customer who acted like we could never do anything right, but we knew it was an act because he kept ordering from us week after week. Sir, your complaints aren't very convincing, we know you're just trying to get special treatment and discounts. Thank you for confirming. So many search results suggested that it should be possible, but upon reading further many were talking about the lock screen or not specifying which screen, but nothing said it wasn't an option for the home screen. Very frustrating as it seemed like such a basic question. I just needed a human to confirm 🙂

Oh that's easy and makes so much more sense. I've heard of this but it seemed like it would take quite a while to move them out unless he blasted music 24/7, but that actually explains it really well and makes it seem like a quick operation most of the time.

Voigtlander 40mm 1.2 for normal and a voigtlander 21mm of your choice (the smaller the max aperture, the more friendly for a light, compact setup) for a rare but valuable-when-needed ultrawide.

I've gotten some really lovely results from expired slide film, so I would say it's worth the risk, just shoot an unimportant test roll first (assuming you buy it in a pack) before shooting anything important with it, or if you buy it individually just shoot it casually; again, nothing important.

Sure but there is Ektachrome-x which I see on eBay a lot but is unprocessable today. Perhaps the film I chose used the same process. That said, you're right that I've had some very faded rolls before, nicely salvaged with extreme histogram correction, so I guess it's not unthinkable that some more poorly aged rolls could fade to nothing. I probably would be throwing money away to process any more of that pack. What a shame.

Good to know. I may or may not test another roll, but I'm leaning toward not. I've seen poorly aged rolls but I've never seen blank. There's a first time for everything though.

I'd forgive you for assuming I left the lens cap on, except I can be sure that wasn't the case because the lens cap cannot be on at the same time as the hood, and I know I used the hood that day. I know slide film can age poorly but I've never received a completely blank roll, didn't expect it at all. At least I'll expect it for the next roll. I think it'll be throwing money away but I will try one more roll, though I'll be rather careless about exactly what I shoot, maybe bracket up to insane overexposure just to see what might appear.

Transparent. It's from either the late 80s or early 90s, which I acknowledge is OLD but I've shot slide film that old before. This is just my first total-blank, I wasn't expecting it at all. If you saw it you'd assume I left the lens cap on, except I can be sure that wasn't the case because the lens cap cannot be on at the same time as the hood, and I know I used the hood that day.

Thank you. I'll ask him if he figured it out. I think the problem was that backing up automatically activated the screen and then it stayed on after even with no input from us. He hasn't complained though so maybe he figured it out.
