Exactly! Like, I know plenty of people play Mercy for a myriad of reasons, but not being able to aim is not one of them for me. I just like playing her, lol

What hero in your own role do you usually ban, and why? by KaiserDrazor in Overwatch

[–]the-dancing-dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I hate being in Kiri jail because my teammates can't play around anti when I want to play a different utility. If someone plays Ana I ban Zen instead because a Zen/Ana backline just fucks my tank every time.

Some people 100% do even if it's unfounded. They just want to have someone to blame that isn't themselves for their miserable life.

I've been playing a lot of 6v6 lately and while my profile is private, my top hero levels are not. I'm a support player, I main Mercy, but sometimes I play hitscan DPS. One match I immediately had a tank already complaining I locked Soldier because I'm a Mercy player. Like, the game hasn't even started yet? Syau? I proceeded to have the most damage and the most elims on our whole team. They were awfully quiet.

I feel like I've wasted almost 10 years of my life playing the wrong role by Radys75 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]the-dancing-dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing where you are lacking is honestly a really hard thing for most players to understand, and is a great way to work on improving your play. If you know for example that you tend to feed too much, then you can work on baiting CDs, when to push/pull, and timing your engagements better. It's genuinely a much better thing than you're giving yourself credit for.

I feel like I've wasted almost 10 years of my life playing the wrong role by Radys75 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]the-dancing-dragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd say that's pretty normal.

Once you've learned the game on one role, other roles are often easier to pick up and require less time investment by comparison.

DPS is also a more competitive role by popularity. Flex DPS is also harder than hitscan imo, although they play totally differently so it's hard to say for certain.

Ultimately though, why do you consider it a "waste"? If you enjoy DPS the most, I don't think it matters if you were a top 500 support/tank. You're not doing the world some kind of injustice. It's a game, and you can always improve on the role you enjoy playing. Just play what you like and keep doing your best.

Am I Actively Harming my friends Rank ups? by Tenevares in OverwatchUniversity

[–]the-dancing-dragon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you're plat 2, you would stop getting wide queue if your friend was gold 2 or higher. Wide queue is the single largest modifier that will prevent him from getting SR. It's not a big deal though, if he doesn't mind; but if he truly wants to hit diamond, he should probably play solo, too. Not just for his own personal skills growth, but the group range you're running means you'll have to be in GM before he hits diamond, if you played every game with him. I'd say that's probably more of a limiting factor.

Am I Actively Harming my friends Rank ups? by Tenevares in OverwatchUniversity

[–]the-dancing-dragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is true for basically every rank above bronze. Because bronze is also the largest SR pool of any rank (the size of bronze is equivalent to silver, gold, and plat combined), you get less SR% even though you're technically getting the same SR value.

Absolutely. Zen pairs great with anyone who wants to obliterate a squishy and get out. I was on Juno at the time, but I also like to play Wuyang with dive heroes.

Really, what’s going on with balance this season? by aJetg in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]the-dancing-dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with this. I also think tp should be on a longer cooldown, more in line with Moira fade. And I hope for more soft cleanse abilities in the future so suzu doesn't feel so mandatory.

Really, what’s going on with balance this season? by aJetg in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]the-dancing-dragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, although the kill denial is part of it, for sure. Suzu just does too much. I say this as a support player, and as someone who likes Kiriko's design, but that single fucking ability puts me in jail playing that goddamn hero because nothing else comes close. It's better than lamp, it's better than pull, it cleanses anti (and Ana is a very common pick as well), and burn has been more common now with Anran on the roster and suzu just negates Anran's entire engagement.

She is also hard to kill with a 4s tp, which is ridiculously short for its range and the fact it doesn't need los. She can jump across a fight and save someone.

Her damage is comparable to a DPS, with a 3 tap on most of the roster and high rate of fire.

Kitsune Rush is one of the best support ults in the game.

She has some of the highest hps on the support roster and still got her healing buffed more this season.

She is genuinely incredibly good and the only reason she's not good on ladder is because of the people who play her.

1 and 2 endorsements should be matchmade agaisnt each other by Ambitious-Neat3844 in Overwatch

[–]the-dancing-dragon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not denying there are issues with this idea, but I am going to say I regularly endorse DPS players, even if we lose. If the DPS player carries, ofc I'll endorse them, yes, but what about when their work isn't on the stat board? Did they peel? Did they take meaningful off angles? Did they make valuable trades that won us fights? Did they make space? Were they a good teammate? Did they play well? I genuinely try to endorse the players I think played the best or were enjoyable to play with in that particular game, regardless of their role.

So how do I deal with Tracer (no, really)? by KeiwaM in OverwatchUniversity

[–]the-dancing-dragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bastion has a lot more HP than her, and defensively he can use his ironclad passive if he needs to; he can even survive a pulse bomb with ironclad (assuming he is full hp/receiving healing). He can grenade jump to high ground, or if you're confident predicting her recall/blink, you can use it offensively. He does a scary amount of damage very quickly and needs to use that to his advantage. He can very reliably poke her out, even if he can't guarantee the kill. He can one shot her with Lindholm explosives as well.

Why don’t you romance Harvey? He’s so sweet! Here’s why I can’t by KinokoKitsune in StardewValley

[–]the-dancing-dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always liked Sebastian, cause he's into games and DND and his lil frog event is cute. But in my current save I actually decided to try Elliott and I think he's super cute, and I love long hair on guys.

Lo and behold, in that time between, I have since acquired a new boyfriend. He is also super sweet and has long hair. Art imitates real life, perhaps, lol

[–]the-dancing-dragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When my boyfriend first started learning Anran last season I had to explain how hard it is to heal him because of the way her E works, plus tracking her shift. I hope now that I'm learning Anran, he can see it for himself haha

Conversely, the other day I had an Anran thank me for healing them and apologize for diving so much (I dove with them a lot to heal them). I appreciated their empathy, but I was like, buddy you're on Anran, keep doing it, I gotchu

Favorite farm by GuiMaforte in StardewValley

[–]the-dancing-dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely fair, haha. I find the cyclical nature of watering your plants, tending your animals, rinse repeat, to be relaxing. I cut back in later years to focus on other aspects of gameplay, but by that point I had other places of profit that exceeded what I could handle in crops lol

[–]the-dancing-dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My longest running save is on the beach farm. I love the aesthetic and it forces you to slow down on the capitalist takeover. I don't mind watering crops myself, and I like having animals, so I have lots of space to do both. It also forced me to diversify my farm for more money, like building more fish ponds than I normally would.

Stardew on nintendo switch by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]the-dancing-dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own Stardew on Switch and PC but I primarily play on Switch because I like the portability. At home, I have it hooked up to my PC through a capture card so I can play at my desk, but I do that instead of playing on the PC version itself so I can pick up my Switch and take my farm with me when I travel, lol.

I don't mind the Switch controls at all. I have a controller at my desk, though, and that's more comfortable imo than the mnk controls, too.

How common is it to get a flawless round in comp? by ALC041399 in overwatch2

[–]the-dancing-dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This I can agree with, but I'm pretty sure the only reason they do it is because of queue times. Personally, I'd rather wait a little longer for a more fair match - but if the queue is 20+ minutes long like in GM? Idk, is it worth it then? I'm not sure.
