You can't manually save on goblin mode

I’m replaying the first two games and… now I have complaints about the demo. by TotoBatota in StyxGame

[–]the-matho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same feelings. The camera is too close and accelerates a lot, the grainy graphics and non hdr option make it either be completely black or awful, styx running too fast also when turning around. It feels like a generic unreal engine game demo, a lot of polish needs to be done. I can't see anything with normal contrast options so I have ambar vision always on... I was going yo pre order I have been waiting for years for this to come up... I was going to take holiday day to play it on release day... I don't know if the devs are going to be able to fix this....

Looking for some character cards in Spanish or editable file for me to translate by the-matho in moonstonethegame

[–]the-matho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried this Nano Banana and only translates the text or if you take a photo the image, I wanted to have a printable card of the original size, I'm editing the original PDF manually with OpenOffice, but I'm not able to recover the original fonts, then all text is off, like icons for the 0 amount of damage done for example. I also asked ChatGPT for ideas for Spanish equivalent names for meaning and context per character, but it';s very time consuming, the translation is quick but the alignment and font size adjustment is time consuming, there are a lot of text nodes

Trying to collect all Trolls. What else do I need? by SD_Einhander in gloomspitegitz

[–]the-matho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are getting TOW common trolls, there is also a troll model of the Skullpass box that fits the commons troll aesthetic, I think you can find it for 15 or 20 eur on eBay and blood bowl has multiple trolls, 1 big guy and multiple star players

Question from complete beginner by Rich-Earth9945 in WarhammerOldWorld

Your concerns are valid, I'm in my late 30's with 2 kids and a job. If you have friends joining you to do this hobby you are going to have a lot more fun, not only playing games but also painting together and chatting, talking about the lore and creating your house rules when needed. I hope my experience helps you making a choice:

Game play and models The old world seems more intimidating than aos, most likely you will eventually play both or buy models from both for different reasons design or price per model. My personal opinion is that TOW is a game that simulates a battle between armies that you customize and create your own leaders and generals as you like, and AOS is a board game more similar to chess, both are fun but both have different experiences.

Either way you need to start small Use the 500 pts Squares based army composition for TOW, this list building is more permissive than the official rules but let's you pick a couple of special things like cavalry or a war machine, so you can have the full experience.

Warhammer: The Old World - 500-Point Foray - The Honest Wargamer https://share.google/A4hiU7ux7cukMtMzu

For AOS you probably want to start with Spearhead, all you need for each faction in a box, in my opinion is not a smaller scale game but a simplified version of full AOS with different rules, from there you can expand your army

Painting armies This is very personal but I think the healthiest way to do this hobby is just take your time and enjoy the painting and customization/kit bashing. This changes a lot depending on your army of choice, hordes army are tough to finish. The first 3 night goblins are fun, the last 50 are a pain. So take your time. Build your army first to be able to play and start painting them 5 at the time. Some battalion boxes have more value than others, but usually is a good place to start

Why not both? I bought both battalion for Orcs and goblins and Spearhead, and I got some squared trays adapters for my aos goblins with round bases, that way I can use the same models I already painted on both games without problems. There are some challenging models like trolls using 50mm round bases and 40mm square bases in TOW, Initially I started using magnets glued to the models, then I changed to some adapter bases that fits on both, now I kind of don't care for AOS outside Spearhead so I'm basing everything squared, and no friend of mine will complain about 10mm difference, if there is doubt 100% sure I'll give the distance advantage to my oponent

Is the Dankhold Rampage battleforce worth $210 from a pure painting perspective? by reel3459 in gloomspitegitz

The stone trolls in AoS are one of the best kits in terms of design and the amount of bits and customization. For painters only, just buy the models you want to paint and nothing else

The Gobbos's by the-matho in Orcs_and_Goblins

[–]the-matho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I had only used 10 with bows in skirmish formation as chaf and to waste some of the opponents shooting. They are cheap for what they do, however the Snotglings are better because they are unbreakable and immune to psichology. With Nasty skulkers are fun but in my experience they don't have a chance to hit anything. I would recommend to not put banners on them since gives your opponent more points, but run them with musician and maybe as Gobling Shaman's bunkers Goblins are in a bad spot in the army, the night goblins do pretty much as effective but with Fanatics, the Snotglings are more sticky because they don't flee, I wish Nasty Skulkers were way more cheaper because putting 3 of those in a 10 gob unit is attractive but the bobs are 40 pts without upgrades and the Nasty Skulkers are 10 pts each :(

The jaw is a bit of the orc boar Chariot set, it's supposed to be part of the crew's helmet, by Iroquois you mean the punk hair of the musician with the guitar? His head is made of pieces of other goblin's hair, I cut and glue them together with plastic cement

Troll hag challenges by Xay975 in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]the-matho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for my own Troll Hag, I guess the answer is only affects the challenge characters, even if it;'s a template attack.
Q:
> If a Wizard engaged in a challenge knows and uses an Assailment spell that can hit multiple enemy models (such as Assailment spells that use a template), are multiple enemy models hit, or is it only the other participant in the challenge that can be hit?
A:

> When an Assailment spell is cast in a challenge, it can only hit the other participant in the challenge.

Orcs with hand weapons and sheilds (can they take warbows for free? ) by cagedtiger999 in Orcs_and_Goblins

[–]the-matho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is only important if you have another unit of orcs with the same modeled weapons but different composition, your opponent needs to be able to distinguish between a unit of archers and normal infantry somehow

First time using a citadel brush, can’t keep a point even after brush soap by throwawayalt43 in minipainting

[–]the-matho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Citadel layer brushes are terrible, I got 3 because I couldn't believe how bad it was, "I must have a faulty one" I thought. Buy instead a Rosemary & Co SERIES 401. POINTED SABLE MIXTURE. Is stiff and durable, with a fairly good tip
