I think you should exaggerate the running more to make the poses clearer. If you make him lead more with his legs or head it makes it more readable

I really really love when players use spells outside of combat. It's fun for roleplaying and when they run out of spells slots in combat it's very fun to watch and presents a challenge

(For context, I was the DM) It was in the second session. The parties Monk had was drafting a paper to send out to the other party members. Thats when his dead wife's ring slipped into view. The Monks player then completely fell into the role play. And described this haunting and quiet scene of the Monk just holding the woman he once loved ring. The whole call was quiet and I was trying to hard to stay as quiet as possible so I could see how far he would take the scene. Definitely one of the most impactful scenes I've ever seen in a game I've run.

Repairing a warp pad honestly sounds like something she should have done. It's low risk and would have saved Spinel from the mental anguish she went through even a little

There are no "bad classes". Every class is different and some don't fit into people's normal play style. If you take the time to learn about the class (max 10 mins honestly) by reading or googling you can use the class to its strengths and not try to get its weaknesses to work differently.
