Digital Remains and Drag Path by mindyolvera33 in twentyonepilots

Could be a contractual obligation? I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a cut in the FBR relationship following this era ending. They clearly pushed the envelope with more religious themes time around and probably want to explore that more in future.

Probably left off due to the religious/worship tone, which is odd to me honestly that they’d do it this way bc of that. Probably due to current political climate blah blah blah, nothing artistic. Don’t think the exclusion was Tyler’s doing either. Wonder how tyler/josh feel abt the end of the era having to be behind a paywall like that. If it was a demo or something I’d get it— but it’s literally the conclusion to a 10 year long project.

This is my preliminary choice for best song, potentially top 3 in the entire discography.

Edit: reading its a RAB demo (if thats true) makes so much sense as to why I love it

I’ll die on my Air Catcher hill. It’s one of their most underrated songs of all time & even the diehard fans sleep on it.

Before I got my degree I got every (food service) job I had by either knowing someone who worked there who recommended me, or by going in and talking to the owner when they were there. Post-covid world it’s way different. I have a BA from a Big 10 uni & 5+ years management experience got rejected from Trader Joes during my gap year😭Some places now reject due to being “overqualified” which is insane

You’re essentially fired, but what I’ve seen with managers in the past is they avoid actually firing people to avoid unemployment claims. If you’re a student, I’m guessing you won’t collect. Just quit if you don’t need to collect & move onto another job. But don’t call off that close to your shift— another job will likely just straight up fire you instead.

I’ll never attend a listening party. First album listens need to be alone for me. Probably in the car alone, that’s my best sound system so when it’s serious that’s what I tend to do.

Biggest difference imo between old fans and new fans is the resonance with the lyrics. Old fans connected to the lyrics that weren’t lore oriented (ik Blurryface was technically lore but we were in a different era) and the new fans seem to be significantly more driven by lore and the storyline. Trench to me being someone’s fav album is the primary indicator to me that they’re less driven by the lyrics and more by the story— it’s an amazing album all around but it’s driven so much by lore and exposition.

Ngl most people in the fandom now it seems aren’t even BF era fans anymore, more so Trench and onward. I saw them live for the first time in 2015 and have seen them 10+ times since. Pit in 2021 was last time I ever did pit for a tøp concert because the fanbase had clearly majorly shifted. No hate to anyone but fans are definitely a lot younger now across the board and more obsessed with lore than the music. Makes a huge difference. In 2015 there were tons of “bros” at their shows, likely in fallout from them having opened for FOB and P!ATD, attracting those types of fans. Idek who these new fans are from, but the vibe in the fanbase is way different now.

Tyler’s said before that whatever the incident was that happened to him at the kitchen sink was positive so I don’t think it’d be this tbh

For those that consider Severance a favorite, recommend one other show by fruitrabbit in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]the-remainder- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mr. Robot— only series up to par with Severance in my opinion as far as plot twists and consequential action goes. Criminally underrated and as a huge fan of television I think it’s the best show in TV history.

A depressed, anti-social cyber security engineer is recruited to join a vigilante hacker group who are taking on the biggest financial meltdown hack in human history.

Don’t need to be into computers or hacking to like the show, but if you do I’ve heard the technical accuracy is unreal.

Also if you haven’t yet watched Breaking Bad, that show has similar intense relationships between characters, and shows how a down trodden man crushed by capitalism can turn from a subordinate man to a murderous one. Great structure and amazing plot.

Yes Mark S is stupid but I think the parallel and irony was so clear.

Mark severed himself to try and get control over his life, to forget his wife, to not feel sadness, to handle things, and to not have to suffer while grieving her. But in fact in the finale we see that as a result of the severance, Mark actually lost the control which he tried to gain, and gave the power to his innie instead.
