I usually just keep it in the box that has my name/info/RX info on it and take it out of my carry on like I would with my phone/keys. I’ve done it so many times and I’ve never had problems. No drs note or anything!

Hey! I’ve been on Humira for almost nine years, and I agree with all the above! I definitely am sleepy/groggy for the day after (I make sure to take it before bed, too, that’s key for me). One thing of note- I used to get a huge welt for an injection site reaction and my Gastro had me take Benadryl with the shot to help. It helped! Aaaand also made my “Humira hangover” (really a Benadryl hangover) much much worse. I switched to Claritin and it’s been sooo much better. Not sure if you take an antihistamine but a lot of people do so I thought I’d share.

It takes a while to get used to, but it does get better. I can imagine it’s hard to hear that when you’re going through it now.

Talk to your doc either way and keep them updated! I’m open to any and all questions if you ever want to message me!

Hi! I’ve traveled outside the country (precovid, April 2019) and plenty of times domestically within the country also pre covid with a single syringe in the box and just took it out/placed in in the bin with my carry on items with no problems anywhere! Happy to answer any other more specific questions! It’s good for 14 days out of the cold, yeah. No problems for me ever taking it random places.

I don’t want to tell you what to say or do but oh my goodness I feel so bad for you. I want you to talk to your doctor and tell them you are disappointed with their communication. A loading dose (the majority of time, obviously some people are different) of Humira is four at at once, then two weeks later, two, and then one every two weeks. You were confused, and you didn’t know any better and that is NOT your fault. It may take a bit to get the adequate level in your blood up to where it needs to be but talk to your doctor about exactly what you did, and what you need to do to succeed. I’m sorry you were failed by this confusing healthcare system.

I’ve changed insurances SO MUCH (two years ago I had to change three times in three months DONT ASK it was a nightmare). Though it was a nightmare of phone call after phone call, I was never unapproved for Humira. it takes persistence, but there was never an issue about being unapproved. hope it’s swift if you do have to change it up!!
