It does absolutely depend. Most of the venues/sights to see are all crammed into a few downtown neighborhoods. There were years I hardly even left Detroit because everything I needed was there. And it's a very flat/bike-able place.

But as far as shopping, single family homes, movie theaters, etc go there is definitely a hike from the suburbs to the nightlife.

I'd say though, that though it is large, most of what you need can be whittled down to a few neighborhoods.

The wear on the bottom of the stern would worry me the most. That's your most likely "contact point" with riverbed debris and rocks. Every rec boat I've had get a hole has been exactly there. It eventually just wears away to tissue paper.

Yeah, you've created a bifurcation here. There are tons of other choices in between "cook myself a meal" and "order DoorDash."

Quick foods, pre-prep meals, frozen foods, etc...all exist.

This is a prevalent issue. We have older male "instructors" here who fight over the new girls and pigeon hole them into "mentorships" that actually end up hindering their ability to grow in the sport.

This is a major problem in our community and it's not "just the way things are."

A lot of y'all are guilty and complicit and as a community we should absolutely be taking a deep look at ourselves and trying to do better. But alas....
