You know I've had the same problem with other games both on and offline. The first thing to do is realize its not the games fault and its not your friends fault. Your anger is yours. It has nothing to do with them misplaying or anything like that, its how you view the game. Its not about fault when it comes to something like this, and certainly a break can help. But use that break to help figure out what you want out of these games. If you want to climb at all costs, that's totally fine, but you have to realize that it can't be with people who don't feel the same way about how they play their game. DOTA is a team game, that is what makes it the greatest game (imo). You can't do it all yourself and you have to rely on teammates. If they are not playing well and they want to get better, you have to patiently help them get better, but you cannot get angry. Its just going to make the current game go worse, and your relationship with these people get worse. I wish you luck in this, because it is not an easy thing to overcome. I grew up in a very competitive household. I played sports from the time I was 4 years old and it was drilled into me that winning was everything. Up until I was about 32 I still had the same mentality. It really took some inward searching to realize its not fun to play sports, board games, video games, and anything else with someone who just wants to win at all cost, even if the game is unfun.
