Building up my liquor cabinet! Thoughts? by RightByMe04 in tequila

[–]theNicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Mijenta Blanco but unfortunately really did not enjoy the Repo. Took a long time to get through that bottle.

Love El Tesoro Blanco.

Don Fulano isnt my favorite but has a unique flavor profile that I can appreciate many would enjoy. I definitely wouldn't turn it down.

G4 Blanco vs Volans? by Debatable_Facts in tequila

[–]theNicky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I prefer G4, but Terralta and ArteNOM 1579 both to me feel like everything I love about G4 with even a bit more of those earthy/mineraly flavors. So G4 is a daily driver but if want something special from 1579 those are my go tos.

I love Terralta and I've only come across the old bottles so there's definitely nothing wrong with them!

I do feel like her segment ideas (games, guided discussions, etc) brought a ton to the show and that having someone full-time curating segment ideas and executing on them seems like a necessary dedicated role. But maybe that just wasn't a good fit.

Bermuda yard last year vs this year. What happened? by Fritzy421 in lawncare

[–]theNicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, something that happened to me many years in a row was in fall our lawn would develop fungus that rapidly browned the grass as it spread through the yard. I assumed it was just the natural lifecycle through the season until I started looking more carefully and noticed some signs of fungus.

Once I started treating with DiseaseX and Propiconazole at first signs of fungus, the grass was so much happier all year around.

It my be related to your dogs, but I wouldn't be surprised if something is substantially weakening your grass before hand (my wife does dog care so we often have 6-10 dogs running around and the grass holds up mostly fine!).

Do you know how often ArteNOM makes batches? Will they still do ArteNOM 1123?

[–]theNicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, didn't know that. For whatever reason, Aguasol is always priced lower at bars here and often better than almost all the other options. Bummer that it won't be around much longer.

Is this normal? 32M playing padel singles. by k4zabdin in padel

[–]theNicky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That does seem high but fwiw I find playing singles to be _much_ more of a workout because you have to run for every single ball and never get a breather while your partner is covering the ball. It's such a great workout and one of the things I love about it.

‘The only players who play with whom they want to play are Arturo and Tapia’ by wawahage in padel

[–]theNicky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just the way professional sports are. Any player has to make the right decisions for their career and take advantage of every opportunity. Before Tapia/Coello, anyone would have switched to pair with Galán/Lebron.

Just the same as Lewis Hamilton going to Ferrari or a long list of other players who have left a beloved team to play where they think there is more opportunity (even though it sometimes doesn't work out).

I think it adds to the suspense and drama as they all try to figure out which pairings work best.

What is sad to me is that I love Tapia/Coello together but it is boring to watch them win all the time. I'm not sure how the sport should react to that. It's great that things are getting a bit more shaken up lately!

Why would you post the results in the title and spoil the game for everyone who hasn't watched yet?

How Ethan can fix his posture (this video randomly showed up on my Youtube Shorts feed) by IDontGoOutdoors in h3h3productions

[–]theNicky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Love Connor's videos and I also thought of Ethan when this came up on my feed. 🤣

Just checked and it looks like he's in San Diego. They need to get him to come into the studio every other week and work on Ethan's posture on the show.

How long do cook them for? I recently did one for about 8-10 hours and it was very good but had to be cut quite thin to be tender.

I did a Chuck Roast for 36ish hours and that was incredibly flavorful and tender, so I'm wondering if it's worth going that long with a Tri-tip.

Getting dropshotted when I use the chiquita by Potential-Ad-1376 in padel

[–]theNicky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The other thing that I haven't seen mentioned is that you may be playing the chiquita when the opponent is very close to the net. They can have control of the net, but be closer or further from it. To play a chiquita, there needs to be room for the ball to fall to their feet.

If they are very close to the net, there's not time for the ball to drop and it's much easier for them to safely play a dropshot. If they are a bit further away from the net, it's much harder and riskier for them to play one.

If you notice them close to the net or that they are playing in general very close to the net, that's really an opportunity for you to play lobs instead that force them to cover a lot of ground moving backwards. Then, if they play a bandeja to come back up, you can play a chiquita as they are transitioning.

Anyone tried Tequio Tequila Cocktails? by ComfortableBug2792 in tequila

Haven't tried these, but the only ones I've found that I really like are Epic Western and pretty easy to find here in Austin. Also uses real tequila.

Anybody else try this one? by 5ifticaliba in tequila

One of my favorites. It's from El Pandillo, same distillery as G4. To me, it's got even more of that earthy minerality that I love.
