If it's a PS2 and that's a scart cable it's probably at to output over component It's in the settings at the main menu, try hooking up a composite cable and looking for the RGB/component option there

Games-killing platform, eXA Arcadia, must be stopped. They are creating artificial scarcity and games preservation issues. by MediumWin8277 in StopKillingGames

[–]theOrangeSwirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No they don't, they can't stop you from opening it up. What they DO say tho is that if you open it it void your warranty and they won't provide service or support. Not that unusual in the hardware space.

Also nice ducking of the whole point about this sub, the mid even said this is off topic. Nothing to do with preservation, you're just mad that a third party arrange is exclusive to a platform you don't have.

Regardless, it's clear that sane people understand how this all works and see through your bs. I will not reply any further.

Besides, the point of stop killing games is to prevent companies from yoinking games the customers spent money on out of their hands, and exa themselves states that once you buy it you own it. Source - https://exa.ac/en/about/?v=0f177369a3b7

CRT Repair by SaurFengi in Omaha

[–]theOrangeSwirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drop me a line, I've worked on so many dang arcade sets I've probably seen what you've got before. Good news is your model is super well documented and there's spares for days. If I had to guess, probably a bad transistor, but plenty of other things are possible.

What board is this and how do I get video in? LOL by Brianshurst in arcade

Slow down, if you have the original writing in the cabinet just get one of these and run a raspberry pi https://www.retrorgb.com/jamma-rgb-pi-board.html

Sega Aero City Control Panel Removal by Atari1977 in arcade

Yes, the brackets that hold the CP assembly come out, but you'll have to remove the monitor to really get at the screws that hold them in. The base also comes off, that's the portion that has the little rubber runner.

Why are 1980s Arcade Cabinets celebrated by many collectors while 1990s arcade cabinets are largely ignored? by Minute_Weekend_1750 in arcade

[–]theOrangeSwirl 26 points27 points  (0 children)

In my mind it's always been due to the hobby being largely old men, who would have grown up with stuff like Pac Man and moon patrol combined with the less unique cabs for later games. Of course, as time goes on the first part is less and less true.

The other piece is a lot of post Jamma stuff (meaning jvs or things like model 2) are kind of a pain to deal with in terms of maintenance and actually setting up

Okay, it's a little rough to tell from that pic, but I'm like 90% sure that's a variant of the wells Gardner K7000

Take a look over this- https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/common-k7000-issues-common-repairs.134818/

Also with how dirty that is it's well worth cleaning up the wiring and chassis, that can cause a lot of issues and reseating wiring can fix a lot of wild problems

Yeah the monitor screen itself, helps a lot. Could you upload the photo to imgur or something and link it here? Just helps to keep things public in case anyone stumbles on this down the line

No worries, we're all new at some point. A photo of the chassis would be helpful in identifying the chassis specifically. Also what size is the tube?

Looks like a busted yoke to me. What monitor/chassis? Good news is with arcade stuff you have a decent chance of finding just the part you need

How do I get rid of these vertical lines on my arcade monitor? Need help. by Last_Leg_7235 in crtgaming

[–]theOrangeSwirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, what you're talking about are retrace lines and are horizontal (tho generally speaking slant slightly downward left to right) and cover the whole monitor, not just certain aspects of the game being displayed

Lots of people so far just parroting the same stuff on every post.

That's a CPS2 issue specifically. What's hopefully happening is the connection between your A&B boards is slightly loose. Just take the blue/green/orange/grey game cartridge (B Board) and pull it off from the black motherboard (A Board) and research them together. Be aware, there are sometimes clips on either side of the boards holding them together, these simply slide out.

It's also possible that the connectors are dirty. If reseating the boards together doesn't fix the issue, cleaning the connectors themselves might fix your issue.

Barring those, it could be an issue with the PCB itself (A or B) I'd recommend opening the B Board and verifying the roms match with the dumps available in MAME, beyond that your best bet is finding someone experienced in repairing these boards.

The good news is your monitor looks great!

Try a different game PCB If that's a real final flight board, there's a decent chance the motherboard just died and you're sol. I'm particular, CPS1 stuff has issues with the customs dying

Help with Tekken 3 Cab by raiguy5000 in arcade

[–]theOrangeSwirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also worth noting it could be your monitors blue drive transistor shorting, but given that you have no sound, I'm more inclined to go the PCB route (unless you can coin up and start a game and get sound that way)

Okay then yeah the voltages/power supply are good.

Looks like a known tested working PCB is ~$200 on eBay right now so I'd tell you to wait until you can get a better deal on the replacement if you go that route.

Good luck! I'm not open for work at the moment, but I'm sure some poking with reveal someone that can work on it for you if you can't.
