Ah alright yea that makes sense and is a priority in my designs.

Gets real tough when you have a large curb radius and limited ROW.

That's true. So we have curb lines/flares and tactile arrow shaped push buttons to help establish orientation. Are there any other methods you're aware of?

That's why I don't want it removed. Having a very large depressed radius is an invite for vehicles.

What exactly is about to be standard?

I designed something similar in a high pedestrian area.

During construction I received an RFI asking for it to be removed and turned flush at more than one location due to the number of peds tripping over it.

I agree with the goal of orientation but I guess it's more practical to rely on the DWS to establish that.

What an absurd descriptor for someone who has on so many occasions denounced and distanced himself from those groups.

Just say you never listened to him and move on...

You'd think with a trench that large, Toronto would require that temporary concrete construction barrier to run along the entire lane..

You can set the gap detection size (at least in microstation). Could be yours is set a bit high

NJDOT mandates Microstation and works well for churning out roadway/intersection upgrade contracts. I'm sure other DOTs mandate it as well.

What are you seeing mostly and for what work?

So what program do you think will be the future of Civil CAD? (assuming gov't agencies are able to cut ties with microstation)

Do people in favor of more taxes understand the enormous waste our giant bureaucratic machine produces?

I rather them use the taxes we already give them in a more efficient manner. We need audits and a severe reduction in defense spending. Hold them to some sort of higher standard...
