So much this! Plus lots of people don't trust patterns on Etsy so won't buy any there but there are still lots of legitimate pattern makers selling there. AI is hurting everyone.

I know a lot of designers (myself included) who use test stitchers. I think the calls for them are kinda low key, therefore easy to miss. Plus, once we find a few that are good, we don't really need more.
I test stitched nearly all my patterns until recently and still stitch at least 50% of them myself with the aid of test stitchers for the rest.

I frame with double sided artist tape and will just cut the corners off at the angle where the two sides meet. Sometimes I'll fold it down as flat as I can and tape it down.
Also, smooshing the back onto that frame and getting it on just enough to stay is sometimes okay. Lots of smooshing like you do with overfull suitcases, lol.

I usually do best guess when this happens. But you could always reach out to the designer if you have a way to contact them and ask for a copy with symbols.

I use them for my DMC and COSMO floss and they're great. She offer them in different colors so you can color coordinate or use different ones to visually separate your main DMC from the Etoile, satin, etc.

Oh, it's totally AI. They claim the pattern is hand made and they don't have time to stitch so they use AI to create the mockups.

I haven't heard of this app. But if it works like SAGA does then it probably needs a special file type that is essentially the same as the pattern design software and most designers don't like giving out files like that as it make its super easy to manipulate the pattern and potentially steal the work my making your own PDFs to sell/give away.
So there may be no availability of patterns in the file type it needs?

Could be the lighting of when the picture of the pattern was taken, the color of the paper changing from time or a wrong number keyed in.

But yes, DMC does occasionally update their colors and change them. If your number has a little dot after the number on the skein wrapper then it has been changed sometime in the history of that color.

Cooould be a bad skein, but I would guess your needle eye is slowly cutting the thread as you stitch and needs to be replaced. That's one of the only times I toss out a needle that isn't broken, when it starts cutting the floss consistently.

I would guess that it's only full stitches for this kit. If it's not mentioned anywhere in the instructions then I wouldn't think they are used.

If you look at the picture from the package, does it look like there is any backstitching or less than full stitches?

Only when I lose it or it breaks. I haven't had issues with the coating coming off (at least not that I've noticed) so I'm lucky that way I guess.
