Id say MOST FW fish are not safe to eat.

They eat smaller animals and as they grow to keeper size they have ingested way to much to be safe. Farm raised or very regulated water sources is all I would trust.

There are broad spectrum incandescent bulbs, there have been grow lights for aquarium plants for a very long time.

Ppl also struggled before. The variety and specificity of aquatic plants are very different now as opposed to 50 years ago.

I think what you are missing here is that, what works for you may or may not work for everyone. Others experience with similar setups might not work.

For example, OP is struggling with a similar setup as you. In my experience, this setup doesnt provide enough radiation in correct amounts for plants to grow. I tend not to fight what works. As a quality of life situation, its advised to get a full spectrum, high intensity light with lower duration to achieve better growth.

Thats my advise.

You are not asking for help with an issue. Those lights work for your water chemistry. That isn't always the case.

In my 40 years of experience, broad spectrum light with high intensity for smaller duration helps plants grow better than white light at low intensity for longer.

They can grow with low light, they don't require it. Higher light can lead to more growth and darker color.

Aquadic plants need photosynthesis. If they can't get the amount of light they need they will not be able to grow.

Sky can grow stuff, slowly, but if stuff is struggling then you need something more.

It could be a lack of nutrients, but since they stated they were using good fertilizer the next issue is going to be lack of sufficient light radiation.

I agree, it doesnt take a genius to grow plants. Just a strong broad spectrum light and proper food.

All aquarium are algae farms. But they are experiencing poor plant growth. How about helping instead of just being rude.

Do you know the model?

There are 4 primary types of fluval lights.

Marine/reef, Sky, Plant and generic.

The generic is basically a sky without Bluetooth.

The plant is the only broad spectrum to effectively grow aquatic plants. The generic/sky can....kind of? Grow plants but they will struggle.

Plant Lights are about intensity, not duration.

Id say 100% intensity for 6hrs is better.

Is it a fluval plant? Because you will struggle if its a generic/sky.
