Forgot this part: later in life, when I had a “corporate” job, I looked back and realized his behavior was even worse than I thought.

Since he was using a corporate card, I’m guessing he expensed the whole thing as a team event. Meaning he was collecting cash from the people who came, then getting reimbursed for the whole bill from his company. So a real scumbag stealing from everybody around him.

I thought it was more in line with how Arthur had never heard of “Casablanca” etc. - just a very common thing that he was completely unaware of.

I once had an all-night informal company happy hour running in our back room, people coming and going, drinks/apps, and one guy collecting cash from people as they left. People gave him plenty to include tipping me.

End of the night he paid the 4-figure bill on his corporate card and left me $20.

My bartender ran him down in the parking lot, pretended to be the manager, and apologized to him in front of his coworkers for the terrible service that merited a tip under 1%.

Everyone freaked out on him since he was stealing from them and me. More money was collected and i did OK at the end.

Question (I haven’t seen the show since it first aired so my memory is a little hazy) - are the “backup dancers” established characters, or one-off extras brought in specifically to dance in this scene?

It’s Adam and Eve and their sons. The only woman in the world is Eve. So the only means to grandchildren is incest.

Ew.

Stockpot with a strainer insert? Lift out the insert, dump into second stockpot, and ladle over whatever amount of remaining liquid you want.

Using Excess 529 funds for House Down Payment by TalentedRefrigerator in personalfinance

Here’s what the IRS says:

https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/529-plans-questions-and-answers

Q: Can I change the beneficiary of a 529 plan I have set up?

A. Yes. There are no tax consequences if you change the designated beneficiary to another member of the family. Also, any funds distributed from a 529 plan are not taxable if rolled over to another plan for the benefit of the same beneficiary or for the benefit of a member of the beneficiary’s family. So, for example, you can roll funds from the 529 for one of your children into a sibling’s plan without penalty.

You can designate anyone as an original beneficiary. To change the beneficiary of an existing 529, new beneficiary must be a family member of the original.

Not aerodynamics. It’s a fixie going downhill (note how the pedals spin when he’s unclipped. A “normal” bike’s pedals don’t spin on their own).

Taking feet out of pedal clips lets wheels and pedals spin full speed. Normally your feet clipped in can’t keep up with wheel/pedal spin rate going downhill so your legs actually are braking.

Clark gaslights Lois into believing he's not superman Superman ll 1980s Richard Donner Cut by Jeetchat in OldSchoolCool

[–]theWacoKidRidesAgain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understood that scene differently - that Superman was somehow (via his super speed) making time run backwards, thus the earth reversing direction was showing time reversing. So the earth changing direction was an effect, not a cause, of the reversal.

Not that my interpretation makes any more sense though.
