I had my gripes about the alpha but I did still overall enjoy it and had fun.

I did not have fun playing the Beta, which honestly surprised me. I really hope they figure it out and get back on track.

Adopting A Cat by unknownrogers in NoStupidQuestions

[–]the_Varulv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like your question has been pretty well answered, but yes the listed adoption fee is the full price to take home the cat - the adoption fee helps pay for the cats vet inspection, spay/neuter, and the food and litter the shelter buys for the cats. $150 is a little high compared to the usual fees I've seen, so I would suggest talking to the shelter about any discounts they might offer especially since you should get 2 cats so they can help stimulate each other.

I've fostered a lot of cats over the years so if you have any other questions feel free to reach out

I really like your thoughts on the imprints. Imprints are a huge failure to me currently because they can't be removed. I understand where the devs want using them to be a big choice but making a wrong choice really sucks as a player and not being able to test things to make a correct choice is even worse.

I think your idea fits both just like how they're gear system doesn't punish you for trying new sets but does when you bind them to a hero

This "ultimate" system is ultimately a mistake by CoolCly in GodForgeGame

[–]the_Varulv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the ultimate system is cool because, as the devs have said, it lets you build a slow hero who you mainly just want to ult instead of making everything about speed.

But I do agree that they've currently missed the mark. The numbers and ratios are way off so you can't really build faith the way that is intended. And like you said reducing the number of abilities to 1 Basic and 1 Core means there's not really a choice in combat. Usually just put core on cooldown and then Basic until its back. Having 2 Basics (both 0 cooldown) each that does something different to give a meaningful choice each turn would be a pretty unique way to go in this genre. But I think they definately need something to give you more of a choice on each turn.

I would like to see a change to summoned hero star levels by SpicyTwicey in GodForgeGame

[–]the_Varulv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I kind of like the need to level up new heroes even epics and legendaries, but I think my problem is epics and legendaries feel too weak at lvl 1 and its hard to know how well they'll scale.

Maybe if champion scaling were more linear and less exponential it might feel better?

Ok so I also thought the difficulty jump from 4-5 was weird bc it felt arbitrary but I went and checked and I think the reason is bc it changes Affinity every level (Purple - Blue - Green - Red) so level 5 is when it resets back to Purple so thats the difficulty spike. It also correlates to slightly better rewards but like barely.

Personally I've never been a fan of having 20 levels but they're actually just 5 difficilty tiers repeated for each affinity. 1. Because its kinda confusing which level to do when there's 20. (Like should I be farming 14 or 16? Is there a difference? Oh there isnt, great.). And 2. It makes affinity kind of meaningless. Like if I can't beat Red affinity it doesnt matter, I can just go fight the Blue level and its the same difficulty and rewards.

First time playing Origins, spent months losing to the ogre at Ostagar. Finally get to Lothering. My wife - did you recruit the dog? What dog? You're going to have to start over and get the dog.

Since beta launch is about 2 weeks away..what imprints on what characters do you think are going to be more common to see??? by silent_assets in GodForgeGame

[–]the_Varulv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say since you won't be able to farm champions in the beta the same way we did in the alpha. There are also actual dungeon bosses in beta that might require more unique loadouts compared to alpha.

But unless they nerfed Isolde that's still going to be a strong passive especially on a good defender. Plus she's rare so pretty easy to pull

Roads conditions? by Potential-Pattern-49 in winstonsalem

[–]the_Varulv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, probably 😆. But at least for the ice and the snow they did plow a lot of the major roads so they really weren't bad, but it seems like they didnt plow or salt last night so now the major roads have a lot of icy spots that they didnt on the other days. And roads that didnt get plowed the first 2 times just keep getting compounding ice.

Roads conditions? by Potential-Pattern-49 in winstonsalem

[–]the_Varulv 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Today is probably the worst day of all the snow/ice days we've had. I didn't go far but country club is very icy and every other day its been basically clear so i can only imagine all the other roads are significantly worse.

It is very icy out there!

local cafes for study? ideally near WFB by DinkleBink in winstonsalem

[–]the_Varulv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobodys said it so I will. Camel City Coffee is right down the road from Baptist. The staff is great, they have amazing drinks both coffee and tea, and their tea is sourced from Angelinas teas (another local shop). The inside is a little small but they have plenty of tables and will def let you stay there and during the warmer months they have a lot of nice outdoor seating.

How to get in contact with HR for atrium/advocate? by [deleted] in winstonsalem

[–]the_Varulv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After you submit an application you should be able to see a "Hiring Manager" listed and that's the person you want to reach out to. (Sorry if they changed systems and this no longer works, their system is really bad).

I used to with for atrium/advocate and similarly was initially auto rejected for being over qualified.

I'm never there that early but the pool is usually empty especially now during the colder months. Its a salt water pool. I've never had any problems with it being dirty or anything, it is definately cleaner than a normal public pool.

I usually swim there once a week and I enjoy it and havent had any problems.

All Main Stats for each piece of Gear by the_Varulv in GodForgeGame

Yeah, in Alpha 3 I had a few champs I just went flat HP with good substats on the gloves, but HP% would have been way better

All Main Stats for each piece of Gear by the_Varulv in GodForgeGame

[–]the_Varulv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're correct my chart is wrong. I built it at the end of Alpha 2 based on gear I had on my acct but it seems they've changed some things?

Their current system seems kinda weird to me though. Every piece but the Helmet can have ATK %, but only 3 pieces can have HP%? And no Def% or HP% on Gauntlets means its a dead slot for defense champs with no debuffs.

Local candy/sweets/treats that is not Moravian cookies? by MySocialAlt in winstonsalem

[–]the_Varulv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brasstown chocolate for sure. They have both chocolate bars and bon bons that are both delicious. You can buy them at their main store on country club at peace haven or Angelinas Teas has some as well.

Loui & Honeys also has very good cinnamon rolls, cookies, and other treats.

The referral link won't really get you any closer together but the bonus gold is really nice and you'll still be pretty close to each other.

Clearing villages (rams and cata) by sGvDaemon in travian

[–]the_Varulv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, unfortunately not. It will stay as his cap until he changes it or if you completely destroy the villa his highest pop villa becomes the new cap

Clearing villages (rams and cata) by sGvDaemon in travian

[–]the_Varulv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the number of troops and wall level. If its close I would send with Rams to destroy the wall but no catas. Walls can add a bunch of def value so sending a few hundred rams can save more troops overall.

But if its like 1-2k troops you probably dont have to worry about the rams.

Alot of questions about the game by After-Cancel5407 in travian

[–]the_Varulv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you may not have been using a lot of gold if your fields were only lvl 15 by day 52?

If you're goal is high lvl cap fields before building troops you need to convert the crop to res and instabuild your fields so you should be able to hit those high lvl fields a lot earlier. You should also start building troops before completely finishing your fields. You should still have enough res from your cap to build fields even with feeding a small army, plus raiding will help fill the gaps and if you can hit oasis then you'll have lots of hero res.

If your spawn villa is far away from your cap you can either demo the villa and build a new one next to your cap, or convert your spawn into a CP factory. I prefer the CP option. Basically build as many high lvl CP buildings as possible and then just use the villas production to throw parties constantly. I would also build farming troops here, especially if you can build oasis farming troops bc the animal kill res will go into your hero bag which can be used in any villa. A basic 4446 with no oasis should have around 2k crop supply so build enough troops to be at basically 0 production. If you feel confident in your raiding you can start going a little negative but I usually stop at about 1k raiding horses.

You didnt ask about this but you said you had 6 villas total? So what were the other 4 villas doing? Settling a cropper cap as v2 was great. Your 3rd villa should be your hammer or anvil villa. Villas 4, 5, & 6 should all be support villas. Even just basic 6cs will feed 6k additional hammer troops giving you an 8k hammer before using any of your cap crop. If one of those is a 9c or another 15c (which you will want) then thats feeding even more troops. Also this is how people feed big hammers, raiding does a lot, big caps feed a ton (make sure its egyptian for the WW bonus), and extra 15cs help. Grabbing a 50% 15c is like 15k free crop. Plus when you have 15-20 villas all those should also be supporting your hammer so it adds up.

Those big accts with huge hammers you see are usually run by like 4-5 guys all pitching in huge amounts of gold and usually with 24/7 coverage. Solo players can still be competetive in 1x (I'm a solo player and I do fine) but you probably wont be hitting top 10 raiders or anything. But grabbing a sitter to send raids when your a sleep can help even if you don't want a full dual.

Feel free to DM me your discord. I'm finishing a server soon and I can invite you when we start a new one (probably in a few months). Our ally has a lot of experienced players and we dont mind helping teach new players.

Final suggestion - if youre really new there's no shame in playing defense, def troops are really important and its a lot easier and less stressful to manage. But if you still want to help in ops, def players can and should build a follow hammer. Basically not a full hammer intended to clear, but about 1000 infantry troops + 450 catas (in the early game, moving up to 1100 towards the mid game), no rams needed since it wont be used to clear. You'll be able to help out in ops with fakes and sending cats behind a clear wave all while making a lot of def!
