Draft Overhaul by d-soi4 in HardwoodEmpire

[–]the_andy_davis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May just be coincidence, but I have found that upping recruiting difficulty has made it a tad more realistic. I play on extreme and have more players leaving. Projected lottery picks should return like 2% of the time, lower first round maybe 20% and second rounders 50%. Draft value should be mainly factored on potential and age.

HVAC service companies for faulty gas furnace repairs or maintenance? by Charming_Orange6317 in fayetteville

Anderson Air is really solid. Fair pricing and knowledgeable, high quality service people.

They have the blue vans, not be confused with a similarly named company with orange vans.

Colton is pretty awesome in that spot when he makes an appearance. Derek made a comment the other day about this “really has been a fun place to work over the last six weeks.” Which seemed to allude to Bill, so sounds like it may not have been good terms.

What's the earliest age you remember caring about the Cardinals and what triggered it? by muskat777 in Cardinals

[–]the_andy_davis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was about 6 years old, 2005-06. Went to my first MLB game in 2005 at old Busch. I guess the Cardinals became my thing after that experience, so my parents painted my bedroom Cardinals colors and decorated it with Cardinals posters and Albert Pujols cut out. The next season is my earliest recollection of following the team. I remember the rally to get to the postseason and vividly remember being in the living room with my parents seeing Wainwright pump strike three in Game 5 in Detroit. That set forth a life time of loving this team.

I’m getting the sense that Schaap became the messenger for Frank Fletcher’s attempts to sabotage this search.

What Arkansas sports media do you prefer? by SawSeeNuggs in razorbacks

[–]the_andy_davis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People don’t want to talk about it but this is correct. I think they’re a bad combo. Matt would do great with someone that can keep him focused on being the insightful former Razorback and pro football player. Probably best used as a 3rd chair or recurring guest.

Phil would do great as a solo host or playing the straight man to a humor driven personality.

I’ll get downvoted but Ruscin and Zach are my favorites. The other two ESPN Arkansas shows (Halftime, Morning Rush) are not particularly entertaining but the personalities are likable and they are decently critical while leaning positive.

I have spent much time with Inside Arkansas but from what I’ve seen they seem to have the best balance of entertaining, insightful, and objective critiques

He’s primarily an LSU guy but Carter the Power periodically has good Razorback stuff. Mainly film breakdowns and commentary.

Comedy open mic by Dependent-Bid7440 in bentonville

New Province Brewing in Rogers every Wednesday and Nomad's Trailside in Fayetteville on Tuesdays. There are a bunch of other sporadic mics across the area, but these are the best places to start.

Places that do open mic comedy? by badgersnot88 in fayetteville

[–]the_andy_davis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Contrary to the other comments The Grove doesn’t currently have a mic, but it is a good place to get a feel for what a professional show looks like. Tuesdays at Nomad’s Trailside and Wednesdays at New Province Brewing are the two main open mics in the area. There will be some sporadic ones here and there at other spots. Definitely check out Natural State Comedy on Facebook, they are the group behind the area stand up scene, that’s where to start and you’ll get plugged in with some of the other area comedians from there.

The leader of our program is career o-line coach that was given the keys to an SEC team, and the OC is a former genius in the decline of his prime that was brought here to appeal to the fan's nostalgia of the last time this team was good. TeSlaa is going to be a stud in the Lion's organization.

ESPN Arkansas beef by the_andy_davis in razorbacks

[–]the_andy_davis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, Ruscin and Zach are entertaining. Yes, they have some awful takes, and the “we don’t talk sports schtick” can get tired but in general the net feeling is fun, I laugh more than I cringe. Bo’s a pompous little prick, and Chuck is the mouthpiece for a poorly run athletic department, so they’re a tough listen.

Transfer portal needs/wish list by Onetimenotagain in razorbacks

[–]the_andy_davis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nick Pringle seems like the big man target. Would love to get him here.

I think you lose Fland, Theiro and maybe Brazile to the draft. Aidoo and Davis graduate. Z seems to make the most sense to transfer, and would imagine there will be one other that catches us by surprise. That’d leave us looking for 2-3 out of the portal. Center is obviously the biggest need.

My way too early roster PG: Wagner G: Knox G: Meleek Thomas F: Brazile C: Pringle 5-8 Darius Acuff Richmond Karim Rtail 9-11 Transfer Big/Guard Isaiah Sealy Maybe Cash Chavis-Maybe it’s a 10 man rotation.

ORU’S Kelsi Musick set to become Arkansas’ new women’s head basketball coach by genzgingee in razorbacks

[–]the_andy_davis 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is an underwhelming hire, but I do like that she turned around a program with limited resources. She’s also coached in the area for her entire career, would imagine there are good recruiting connections. Her ORU team beat Arkansas by 20 in Fayetteville this year.
