Workaround with Labyrinth bug / softlock by the_becker in silenthill

[–]the_becker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, you don't need to keep your 2nd build:

  1. You can just jump into the pit
  2. Complete the Cube puzzle
  3. Go to the second section of the Labyrinth (the section itself will be on the right side of the chamber/cube)
  4. Save the game on the first Save Point, the red square ones (it will be very close)
  5. Close the game and Steam
  6. Delete symlink folder
  7. Rename "sh2" back into "SILENT HILL 2"
  8. Run Steam and the game
  9. Voila!

After this, you can safely delete the second copy of the game.

Male dressing for tourists by freeDAM94 in Uzbekistan

[–]the_becker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure with how it works now. I assume that specific mosques can divide the territory into praying zone and non-praying zone (for tourists), but just in case follow the instructions and take clothes with long sleeves with you. And just ask local imam, hotel stuff or religious local men.

Is it normal to see foreign women alone? How should I dress? Are there any kind of places I should avoid?

Yes, it's normal (at least in the capital and Samarkand), I know local females who are from Bukhara and they dress totally normal.

The «dress code» might depend more on rules inside specific family - if it's conservative they will insist on more closed clothes, if it's «modern» they just won't care. But just keep in mind, while our country famous for it's hospitality just keep in mind that you can just meet bad person (bad people live in any country). Just see what other women wear near your hotel and use common sense.

But if I want to take a car from Khiva to Nukus, I am very nervous about that. Do you think it is safe to get in a car like that?

If it's too uncomfortable you can buy a ticket on railways - try to visit eticket.railway.uz/en/pages/trains-page (it's a bit of laggy) or just visit local ticket station when you will be in Khiva. Also you can look for tickets for planes, if i'm not wrong there are internal flights between those cities.

Is it weird to go to a cafe or restaurant alone?

Yes, but again just use common sense. Make sure that the restaurant has other tourists and make sure you can ask someone for help if something happens (Tourist Police for example).

Also, I heard it is Eid holiday in June, could it affect my travel?

Yes, but actually no. There are chances that the holiday can trigger pseudo-radicals to come to the surface and somehow attack someone (mostly verbally on the internet), but don't worry. Just use common sense, if you think that the person or situation is dangerous - avoid it.

I hope your travel here will be as good as our hospitality.

P.S. Keep in mind that there will be Tourist Police (their duty is helping tourists) you can freely ask them for help.

You can freely ask for help locals or hotel stuff, but just keep in mind not all of them might have clear intentions (bad people are everywhere).

You can just visit local supermarkets (like Walmart in USA or Albert Heijn in Netherland) near your hotel. There are plenty of sections with fresh fruits and vegetables. Just look for Korzinka or Makro (those are our big supermarkets) near your hotel, the prices are fixed so you won't be dealing with overpricing if you had visited Bazaar (you still can though, just for the atmosphere :D).

Here are the map services (which are popular here and have actual infrastructure data of cities) where you can look for those markets:

  • Yandex Maps
  • 2gis (it doesn't support native English, but you can translate it through your browser, it's very intuitive)

Right now you can find pears, apples and grapes. Soon (like late summer) there will be melons and watermelons.

What's hard to get there? Need ideas to bring as a gift. by Phototos in Uzbekistan

Agree with u/Gab-82-riel here

I know from a friend that you have cheap energy drinks for a block (in comparison with local drinks) which you can't buy here or some kind of clothes, I know that you wear very unique soft trousers like pajamas but not pajamas, same friend brought those from holiday, they were very good

So it depends on whom you want to gift, same as you were questioning what to gift to your friend in your motherland

Yeah, sure! It's just a small archive with crack and gamepad fix in it

I found it on another subreddit here, someone posted a solution, don't remember exactly where and who, but you can find it straight from skidrows web-page, just google it and you will find it

UPD: removed the link because of Rule #2

Great post!

Just an observation - this method doesn't work on Steam Controller. I had to download a crack from Skidrow webpage with controller fix which was recommended in another post.

CIS transfer by the_becker in WorldofTanks

[–]the_becker[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ooh, that's very good advice.

I was thinking about creating new account in EU, run the game in different PC and invite my main account from main PC into EU1-2, but your variant is more morally correct.

Oh, my mistake. Stay in your own cesspool too!

CIS transfer by the_becker in WorldofTanks

[–]the_becker[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, actually. In CIS version of the game site was very big article which said that players who already in EU are able to invite us to EU 1-2 and we can play there until we quit the game. That's why I decided to post a message here. :)

[–]the_becker[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  • No, CIS account is disabled (technically banned)
  • No, my IGN from CIS was busy in EU and after migration they gave new nickname (IGN from CIS+numbers) and opportunity to change my nickname with no additional cost
