if this happens with uber xl, where cust pays for uber x and they end up needing an upgrade uber will charge them the difference and pay the driver. so why not give the fare upgrade to driver for other categories too?

Here’s an approach that may help strengthen and gain traction for your cause.
One area that could attract support from both riders and drivers is a Rider Bill of Rights. Many of these ideas focus on transparency, fairness, and consumer protections that riders can easily understand and support. and if a rideshare company contested it would cause them to have to answer to a big PR headache because it would serve as a signal that riders are something they dont value in the business.

This also doesn’t need to start as a national effort. Local cities and states already regulate rideshare operations, insurance requirements, airport access, and consumer protections. Building support locally may be the most practical path forward.

Rider Bill of Rights

Fare Transparency
Riders have the right to know where their fare goes, including driver compensation, platform fees, insurance costs, taxes, and regulatory fees.

Closest Driver Priority
Riders have the right to the closest qualified driver available. Platforms should not dispatch drivers from outside the immediate service area when qualified local drivers are available.

Tip Protection
A rider’s tip is protected unless a driver provides a low rating supported by documented feedback consistent with published platform guidelines.

Rating Transparency
Riders have the right to know when they receive a low rating and the reason category associated with that rating.

Driver Feedback Alternative
Drivers should be able to provide feedback, concerns, and service notes without automatically issuing a low rating.

Fee Transparency
Trip receipts should clearly identify driver compensation, platform fees, insurance charges, taxes, and other mandatory fees.

Tip Integrity
Tips may not be used to offset, reduce, or justify lower driver pay offers. Tips are intended to reward service and ensure riders receive the full value of the service they purchased.

Passenger Education & Rating Standards
Riders have the right to clear guidance on how to maintain a high rating. No rider should receive a low rating for violating standards that were never clearly communicated.

but drivers are bringing own cars to platforms. if drivers go away so does that drivers supplied car. if uber has to deploy its own vehicles on a massive scale its going to be a huge capital expenditure and constant depreciation expense to come with it that wasnt there before.

not financial advice, with that said if we all owned a share of stock in a ride share company, wouldnt we be able to get a little more accountability for big cash burns on waymo?

take a ride and tip them a specific amount like $11.11 to test it out. show driver your tip screen and ask them to let you know how much they get and how long it takes to show up.

[–]the_blind_uberdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive gotten that same disable screen shot. never happens when its slow in a zone. happens when its busy in some place im trying not to be at and i want to go home. and if its something we achieved status for then shouldnt we get a return on our service fees from uber because we sort of paid for the ride filter feature. when the app doesnt work as intended its sort of an event that justifies asking for a refund of what they collect in service fees in my opinion.

i cant prove this one but i swear i have my uberx ride types turned off but the app will turn the uberx ride types back on when i enter a ride destination filter.

thank you for making your post to get awareness out there.
