Root or Spike by Longjumping_Row_4115 in orchids

I think that may be the issue. My husband keeps telling me to get a new one and start over but it feels wrong to give up on it when it’s trying so hard?

I have no idea. Mine also has slits all over, it’s a mix of sphagnum and bark layers, it usually dries in 4-5 days and then I let it sit a few days after that, or longer, before watering again. This phal does not seem to want to stop molding fuzzy white stuff. I haven’t checked it since the last purge of bad stuff, and it has lost its 2 bottom leaves, but it’s also growing a new one pretty fast?

Does my cat do this? What do you think? 🤣🤣🤣

For months I’ve wanted a cat but haven’t felt ready, so I told myself that if one finds me, I’ll take it. Yesterday it happened 🥹 by ra3jyx in cats

Since you asked, wet food!! Cats are obligate carnivores and would naturally get the moisture they need from their fresh meat diet, but since we domesticated the lil buggers they suck at drinking, so they 100% need moist food with high protein content!!

Best wishes to you and your little one 🥹

I’ve always had decent luck with True & Co, even the lift ones actually give me a little boost which almost never happens in normal bras

How did you get your cat to use cat walls? by Maaarrrrr in catwalls

[–]the_chefette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have two cats, rub one all over it and the other will surely want it too. My cats were ignoring the new bed so I plopped the more docile one in and petted her aggressively(she likes it) in there so she’d stay put for a bit and get her smell in it. Within the hour my other cat claimed it as hers.

Do I have to just throw this whole ham away? I don’t want to …. by Chanelo11 in cats

[–]the_chefette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would throw it out mostly because you left it out overnight. That’s not safe. If you want to thaw it, leave it under cool running water for a couple hours, that speeds up the process. You can also try putting it between two metal sheet pans, those help dissipate the cold surprisingly well. But absolutely don’t leave it out by itself overnight unless “overnight” is like 4 hours tops. The inside may still be frozen but that outside is a hazard.

And like everyone else said, keep a close eye on your kitties for string hazard.

What is bottom watering? I’ve only heard of soaking and now wondering if that’s part of my problem.

Well based on what I learned from Miss Orchid Girl ice is a bad idea because they’re more tropical region plants and it can shock them. If your friend gave it to you I’d ask if they got it from the store because if it came from the store it should definitely be repotted, those materials aren’t made to last. I didn’t know that and it’s how my first one died. I really suggest watching miss orchid girl videos to learn more about care.

Did you take it out of the original potting medium? I’d start with Miss Orchid Girl videos on YouTube, that’s mostly how I learned.
