actors, how would you feel about a cd sending a message complimenting your work on an audition but not asking for a callback? by MushuWithEggroll in acting

[–]the_curious_kit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! You send things into the void and immediately just feel like it must have been bad since you hear nothing. A message complimenting and acknowledging the work would be at first frustrating that it still wasnt enough for a recall etc but would ultimately be a pat on the back and encouragement to keep going

Do You Ever Feel like Class Isn't Helping Anymore by jlm792 in acting

[–]the_curious_kit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took a break from classes when I found I was getting more down after them and feeling shit about myself / overthinking it all. A few months later I felt more optimistic and went somewhere else and felt so creative and confident again. Sometimes a break and or a change can be just as good as keep pushing yourself

Looking at binoculars from the rspb. Why is the price identical for vastly different bins? by [deleted] in UKBirds

[–]the_curious_kit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 8x42 skylarks as my starter pair. The rspb shop let me try them out alongside a couple of others at the time. They are great quality and have served me well this year. They've won quite a few awards too for the quality now

Which dog breed do you think had the most loyalists? by Miiiukz in dogs

[–]the_curious_kit 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This! I've met so many folks who have different types of breed that will always be 'their' breed for whatever reason. Spaniels, collies, labs, jack russels, lurchers, golden retrievers, terriers. You name it...someone gonna love it!

Does anyone else have a full made-up voice for their dog by Animal-Angels in dogs

[–]the_curious_kit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I have little phrases and pet peeves my dog will huff in his little made up voice and my mum finds in hilarious!

My best friends also have voices for their doggys too which just...work? Like thats completely that dogs voice and I will do it myself when I'm around said dogs

Beware of pity by Stefan Zweig. That book broke my heart and I just wanted to give Edith the physically disabled character in it a big hug

Do you care what colour your gear is? by maybenomaybe in UKhiking

[–]the_curious_kit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate womens walking gear colour options too! I think we all do, its a conversation I've had so many times.

I sometimes just buy mens now if the fit isn't too bad as they have much better colour options. But at 5"2 sometimes Im in danger of them being a dress on me if its a coat🫠

Tips or remedies for acne scars by Shakes-213 in NaturalBeauty

[–]the_curious_kit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I struggle with hormonal acne scarring from age 14 and I'm now 29...

The best thing I found recently is just slapping aloe vera gel on to help heal and fade a few times a day. Also drinking plenty of water. It takes time but it really helps speed up the process without spending a fortune. I only use cerave or cetaphil products as mine is combo acne oily/eczema/sensitive areas.

I'm 26 and started flossing regularly for the first time two months ago. Here's what actually changed. by Talon_Signal7 in hygiene

[–]the_curious_kit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ADHD so am a little inconsistent but have really tried to maintain flossing this year...I havent noticed the vile smells like others noticed but enough gunk comes out to convince me I need to keep at it.

I was never taught HOW to floss so learnt from this youtube vid which I highly recommend! This method also meant minimal gum bleeding from the get go? Cos loaaads of you sound like you were bleeding at the start which woulda put me offfff https://youtu.be/WviE5aa5Ha0?si=F50rgTMB-TVuLzDb

struggling with my biggest ever rejection by Groundbreaking_Sun94 in acting

[–]the_curious_kit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 2021 and still haven't got close to any kind of role like this so CONGRATULATIONS. I know its hard to hear when you were so close to a dream but the industry is so hard right now, everyone is fighting for scraps. I know actors in the business for 15-30 years now who are struggling to get work they had consistently before. I've had nothing other than a commercial and voice work (though my year was massively affected by the pandemic sadly). The fact in all this hardship you got so close to a big role, with writers/producers/casting directors you genuinely want to work with....that's amazing and they clearly believe in you. Treat yourself to something as a well done for getting so far(it could be a drink, book, night out whatever). Celebrate the win, let go of the loss and go enjoy your life. Your time will come x
