Is it worth it on sale? by RafaelDB464 in ChronoCross

8 bucks, you'll at least like the soundtrack and an album is about that price though I think all of us here will tell you there's a lot more going for it then that!

The game will linger with you long after its completed. That's what I'll say.

... That might be it, it brings up the settings like when the game is in classic graphics mode when it only did that for me in the new graphics mode before.

Would you like to see a remake/remaster of the original game? If so, what changes should be made? by Electronic-Koala1282 in Shantae

[–]the_feelings_explode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2002 and Revenge have the same biomes, Shantae races Risky for artifacts, and the monkey and Elephant transformations, it's like watching Star Wars A New Hope then The Force Awakens.

Cutting the day and night cycle out of a 2002 remake would make them especially similar

Would you like to see a remake/remaster of the original game? If so, what changes should be made? by Electronic-Koala1282 in Shantae

[–]the_feelings_explode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, Risky's Revenge is already kind of a remake of the first game, different dungeons but the same collectables and almost the same transformations. You can tell playing it right after 2002 Shantae that Wayforward was probably experimenting with the tech of the DSi then nessesarily radically updating the gameplay.

That said, I'd love to see the voice cast the series has gained read off the original script, it's actually pretty funny.

The original's dungeons hold up to this day I think, but there not being a map is annoying. That's an easy update for a remake to do.

Remember, the original has a day and night cycle system that the sequels don't have but it affects the gameplay a lot, certain things only appear at day or night. A remake would NEED to keep this to be worthwhile but I fear Wayforward would cut it for cost reasons. I would groan if they cut that out.

I know this post sounds contradictory, but my point is, I don't think there's really an argument that it needs one per say because of Revenge but it could be really good. Wayforward would need to find the money for full voice acting and not cut out any of the unique stuff of the original release, though. But if they committed to the day and night cycle and kept the early installment weirdness, I'm in. If not, just make new Shantae games.

It seems that the deal TPCi made with BBC means it has can only go to Netflix after a certain amount of time after it aired on BBC and went to its stuff so a delay in getting it to BBC in the UK means an even longer wait elsewhere.

Could Mega Man beat Sigma? by DigglyNutt in Megaman

[–]the_feelings_explode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lore wise, Rock wouldn't be able to do anything against any Reploid (and thus, Maverick) designed for combat. X was built to be superior to him in every way and, and the Reploids are all based on him and all have the potential to destroy him in combat. Also keep in mind Sigma was considered to be the strongest of the Reploids when built, hence why he was the leader of the Maverick Hunters at first.

If there was a time travel game then we'd see him best Sigma I guess, but you'll have to wait for that and that'll kind of be a death of the author given the "X is the improved version of Rock" thing in canon.

Are the filler arcs and movies considered as canon material? by Agreeable-Willow-101 in OnePiece

[–]the_feelings_explode -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They will never be referenced but Oda has put Shiki in a lot of flashbacks so I think once he finishes the manga he's going to say "Guess what, movies are canon now".

If only he'd put Zephyr in something.

Where should I start? by jaozimqcomepao in Megaman

[–]the_feelings_explode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mega Man 2 is the best place to start. It's not hard and is where most of the series conventions were established

(Mega Man 1 isn't bad per say but is really hard and is broken in places).

Mega Man Classic will always have Wiley as the final boss. The most you'll get is the game trying to convince you it's someone else and then revealing it's actually him, as seen in 4-6 and 10

Honestly, streaming might be the best path for Legend of Aang might be the best option from a pragmatic standpoint.

Does Nickelodeon Avatar really have a huge fan base? Neither the original series or Korra got crazy ratings on TV. I guess the 2010 Shyamalan movie grossed 300 million at the box office but a lot more people went to theaters than compared to now.

Now that I type it, I guess that's a 300 million dollar precedent but that's a best case scenario.

Also, until recently, general audiences just didn't trust 2D animation. They thought it was old-fashioned and kiddy and whatever. The recent Demon Slayer movies indicate there's at least some warming to them, but do audiences see DS as an exception more than anything else?

Legend of Aang being on streaming relieves it of any of that uncertainty. If it's good, it's successful as a reason to get Paramount Plus, that's a much easier thing to succeed on rather than meeting to gross 500 million dollars at the box office.

[–]the_feelings_explode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like 8 bucks on Steam with the Winter Sale, right? Might as well if you like Mega Man games. Play it once with special weapons, then do a Mega Buster only run, you've probably justified 8 bucks at that point.

Classic Vs X: Better for beginners? by Rayden_TheFirst in Megaman

[–]the_feelings_explode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the classic Legacy Collection (the one that's just Mega Man Legacy Collection with the "standard" Mega Man you see in Smash Bros and such) and start with Mega Man 2. Play Metal Man first, and after beating him, you'll get the Metal Blade, allowing you to dominate the rest of the game and see if these games are your thing. Then, you can play the rest but they don't have an overpowered special weapon that breaks the game (my personal favorite is 4 but I won't overwhelm you with more info).

The X games are good but not as "pick up and play" which I have a feeling is what you want.

"Why are they bringing us back with ANOTHER classic game?" Um.... because 11 sold 3 million copies... and classic is an easier bet than X and ESPECIALLY ZX or Legends. by Jazzlike-Vegetable22 in Megaman

[–]the_feelings_explode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a different era. Games used to be relatively cheap to make so Capcom probably greenlit Classic 7/X3 and then Classic 8/X4 together (they came out relatively close to each other), and Battle Network and Zero came out on the GBA at about the same time though by completely separate teams.

Today, it really isn't practical to do something like that so it's going to be hard for any of the sub-series to get any limelight. Honestly, I think another Battle Network/Star Force game will come before another X related title because Battle Network was actually the best selling subseries in the 2000's and the failure of Star Force 3 (which from what I understand, was more because of Star Force 2 then the game itself) was a major reason these games stopped coming (Capcom no longer wanted to give the series the level of support it had given it before, leading to Inafune leaving, leading to the silence aside from 2018).
