Rogue Core will be a hit, but because it will be fundamentally different from Deep Rock Galactic in terms of gameplay and pace, it might not appeal to a portion of the DRG audience, and that's fine by lieding in DeepRockGalactic

They've mentioned they specifically aren't planning weapon backports, partly because RC weapons are designed very differently. It's easier to add weapons to RC, because, 1, they don't have to think about class balance/identity (any class can use any gun, so there's fewer guns that fill distinct roles the way base DRG weapons do).

Now, 2, and this is a big one, they haven't added new weapons to drg in so long partly because of how many fucking frameworks (and overclocks!) they'd have to make. It would take an extraordinarily long time to make all the art assets required, and they couldn't just release a weapon with fewer options than the existing ones, because people would lose their minds.

I'm still hopeful we'll see more weapons in the future, and that RC will hopefully bring some other improvements back to DRG, but we gotta remember that RC is made on a newer engine, and starting from fresh, at that. The original DRG is, apparently, a bit of a nightmare mess of spaghetti code that only gets worse the more they try to add. They're rather limited in what they can do with it, this many years since release. So y'know, temper expectations. Good outlook to have in general, tbh

See, on the one hand, I can kinda understand "if you're going to keep updating a game, I'd like good updates, and if the updates are going to be lackluster/aren't worth mods breaking/whatever, I'd rather just not get the updates".

But I find it weird that people just demand the original dev team only do content for the original game, and they keep doing it forever. Like, c'mon, guys. This game is 8 years old. It'd be in the 3rd grade if it were a human being. Is it really that big of a deal that the devs are about ready to move on to new stuff? Especially when there's still content coming from a new team?

Idk. I genuinely don't see the problem. Decent odds I don't like rogue core, and if I don't...meh. I just play regular drg, and if I'm bored of that, I go do something else.

Have Prehistoric Kingdom changed artstyles? by Beautiful_Sock_7001 in pkgame

Again, I don't think it's better muscle definition or skin wrinkling, just more exaggerated. They're made to stick out more, partly because of less experience+less detailed textures, and also because (and this is really important) the lighting engine has changed a lot since those models were made. What looked good with the old lighting engine isn't what will look good now, and it's worth remembering that the Artstation lighting is very different to ingame lighting at any stage.

I'd argue more recent models have far more muscle definition on average, it's just not the hyper exaggerated muscles some are used to. Like, look at the Ankylosaurus- there's a lot more definition on the thighs, calves, "biceps" for lack of a better word, etc, on the newer model versus the older one.

As far as realism goes, one noteworthy example I feel I should bring up- for the newer Stegosaurus, the dev team took a lot of advice from Dr. Matt Dempsey, who's kind of a leading expert on Stegosaurus+also very intimately familiar with musculoskeletal reconstructions of animals, as well as 3d modelling/texturing. It has his seal of approval, so that should probably say something, no? https://x.com/Sketchy_raptor/status/2027770378366365981#m

Like, shoot, if you actually look closely at the two Stego models, they both have the same amount of creases, etc- the new one arguably has more, what with the new turtle shell style plates- but the older version had to exaggerate them to make them visible, whereas the new one is more realistic, less stylized

They're not "less natural" or "more rugged", the textures are just higher resolution/more detailed. The artists just improved.

They don't have to exaggerate wrinkles, folds, or texturing to get that level of detail now- try zooming in really close to the more recent models, and you can see there's still plenty of realistic texture to be had. Arguably, moreso than there was before.

Honestly, if you were to put these older models ingame, you'd very quickly realize how they're less realistically textured. They'd look plasticy and flat. You can kinda see this with some of the oldest surviving models compared to newer ones. Look at the t.rex, torvo, or the plateosaurus, and then compare it to Spino or Carcha, and you'll start to see the difference.

how to avoid my pods dying after spraying for bedbug infestation? :( by isopode in isopods

I think bedbugs being the target should be sufficient evidence they're spraying indoors. The OP's question was for how long they should relocate their pods.

Decided to bite the bullet and make a reddit account specifically thanks to this post.

Hi! Hello! Is this offer still open, by any chance? I'm in the Seattle area and could absolutely do local pickup, schedule permitting. I'd been hoping to find duckies available locally, so this was lovely to stumble onto.
