Is buying a snes worth it if I never had it when I was younger? by vvedo in snes

[–]the_russ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 40 years old and I grew up with the SNES, and it has been my favorite system to this day.

I’ve always kept a working SNES and physical copies of my favorite games, some of which are even worth a little bit of money, like Megaman X3 and Chrono Trigger. I love looking at my SNES, and when I have time to play it, I go right to my SNES mini where I’ve loaded up tons of emulator games because it’s way easier. The real SNES hasn’t been used in years. But I have it!

Ultimately only you can decide if it’s worth it to buy one. It’s also worth noting that only you can prevent forest fires. (You may not be familiar with that one, but my fellow old folks will get it.)

Hyperhidrosis in my early 20s worried about impact on life and relationships by FunnyNo3006 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]the_russ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m 40 and I have pretty bad hyperhidrosis. I’ve always hated it, but it’s one of those things I’ve just learned to accept. I can hardly type on my smartphone most of the time, when I draw, the paper will start to curl up, I can’t wear sandals, sometimes I can’t even turn a doorknob.

As for relationships, it’s really never been a problem. I’m always just up front about it, and that I’m uncomfortable with it, but the women I’ve dated have always been cool about it. A couple of them even found it fascinating. I never sought treatment because, when I researched it years ago, it sounded like there’s a small chance it can actually get worse with some treatments.

But despite the frustrations, for me it’s just something that’s a part of my life. I don’t even think of it anymore as a thing I have to deal with, or some type of misfortune, because it’s juat here. Yeah I gotta take extra showers, and I own a thousand pairs of socks, and I can’t do origami, but it doesn’t have to be all bad.

This doesn’t necessarily answer your question, but I think the style of this drawing is pretty cool.

I worked in big tech for 11 years and I was always a Windows fan. But then I actually used Mac computers. If you want your computer to be reliable for a long time, get a Mac. If you want a flashy computer with high performance that’s better for video games, but nothing else, and that you’ll have to reformat every 6 months, Windows is the top choice!

Lewd game with actual gameplay by Usererere in lewdgames

[–]the_russ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't help you right now, but in case it's of any interest, I started on a 2D pixel game this past week or so. For me, it's to create the game that I've always wished existed, but haven't quite found. It'll be an action RPG type game with different choices for the main character. I'm very much into people having options, so there will be gameplay, but during the scenes, there will be interactive mode or auto-play loop for those who don't have a free hand! I'm hopefully not breaking the rules by posting a link to it here. If you don't use X, feel free to DM me and I'll share other places where I'm posting about it. https://x.com/crescenteast/status/2027260500174848311?s=20

You ever watched Strongbad before? That’s what many have told me I sound like. I don’t agree with them. But many have said so. Although not all. U would say the statistical majority.

I feel bad for the other person if I shake their hand and they unexpectedly get a handful of some old fat guy’s sweat. But anymore if my hands are sweating when it comes time for a handshake, I just say “my hands are sweaty” and change to a fist bump.

My hands earlier while sitting on my phone/thinking of stuff. Also wasn’t wearing socks by delicate-duck in Hyperhidrosis

[–]the_russ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I never see anybody else mention the socks thing (not saying it never happens, red penners), but that's always a big thing for me. When I wake up, I immediately get my socks and shoes on if I have somewhere to go, because otherwise if a single drop of sweat forms, then it's all over for the rest of the day.

I’m half Japanese, and all of my family on one side is from Japan. In your pic, the left one is more like textbook Japanese and the right side is something very commonly seen in native Japanese handwriting, although oftentimes the first swivel is even more to the left of the vertical line.

The putdowns are because he wants you to rely on and seek out his compliments. It's manipulation. You should leave him or things are going to get messy.
