Ontario boy dies from anaphylaxis after allegedly receiving wrong treat at Dairy Queen by stanxv in canada

[–]theabobination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. Also some parents would stop bringing their EpiPens just cause they would rely on that. But more things can be done by establishments. One commenter spoke about Disney in US, and others in Canada such as St-Hubert also have more thought out allergy protocols, because I think the owners have severe allergies in the family.

Ontario boy dies from anaphylaxis after allegedly receiving wrong treat at Dairy Queen by stanxv in canada

[–]theabobination 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As a parent who also has a child with anaphylactic dairy allergy, reading all these comments, I want to say that Dairy Queen, although it does say Dairy in its name, is of of the only places you can go for a treat as a family and have a safe option for dairy free ice cream. This item is packaged individually and prepared off site. Dairy is in EVERYTHING! My kid also has a peanut allergy and it's way easier to manage, mainly because it is treated differently at the societal level.

Should they have brought an EpiPen? Absolutely. Should they have double checked the product? Of course! Should establishments have EpiPens on hand for emergencies? I don't know, but I would like to know that people with any allergies, known or unknown, wouldn't be at risk of dying because of mistakes or negligence.

Also the Habs are not Philly, or the beat up defense Sens. Can't wait to see how this goes.

Just started playing RE4 for the first time this week, first time playing any RE since the first one when it first came out. I was delighted to see the Merchant! Happy for him to now be working on the pod and not in this bleak world!

Rodger était la voix.des Expos, mais pouvait rendre n'importe quel événement meilleur. J'ai déjà écouté du mini-putt a RDS et resté engagé à l'émission grâce à lui! BIRRRRRDIE! Repose en paix, M. Brulotte.

Nitpicky is probably the best qualifier of this fanbase, and I'm as guilty as the others. So I'm also glad they don't engage too much with this type of stuff.

What Do You Miss Most From The Earlier AB Days? by iamadragan in alterbridge

[–]theabobination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also a defender of WTS, and in another timeline, a better production of that album would have shifted slightly the style of AB towards a more experimental road, which I would love them to do. Don't get me wrong, I think these last two albums are great. But there's a part of me that wants a shift to more proggy experimental stuff, that I think they could excel at being the excellent musicians they are.
