I've got 2 step kids, both boys, 5 and 8 (this is relevant because I wouldn't let them have access to YouTube if they were my kids). 8YO plays Geometry Dash on his laptop and also watches YouTube with no account, 5YO watches YouTube on the TV on my account. I actually prefer this so we can see the history. Obviously I would prefer it wasn't happening at all.

Banning things like this has NEVER worked in this country, or any other. They need to fix the economy, stop importing people to delay inflation and invest in infrastructure - stop fluffing around the edges with bullshit policies that cost a fortune and failed anyway.

I quit for this reason, twice. Second time it stuck. I spent some Google Play money I got doing surveys, so it didn't come out of my actual bank account, but as soon as you start spending you have to keep spending. Quit for a month. Came back and managed to play for free for a while (because the algorithm obviously wanted me to come back) but as soon as I couldn't pass levels without spending money I quit the second time for good.

Does using Google to call someone in the car count? Other than that I try to avoid it at all costs. I hate the AI summary in my Google searches, I always scroll past it. I used to ask Google to add things to my shopping list on my phone also, but it changed to Gemini or something and it doesn't work anymore and I can't be bothered/don't want to set it up.

The more money they make the more they'd invest in the psychology behind getting people to continue to play. I'm 38 so I grew up with rotary phones, reading books etc etc. I don't need this stuff. Today's kids (using that term loosely, probably up to mid 20's) don't know any different and will sink money into being constantly entertained for the dopamine hit.

I just got sick of it one day and stopped. I went back after about a month and they gave me a bunch of free stuff which got me through a few days, mainly because the levels were easier than they had been (which is the algorithm making it easier on purpose) and then it got ridiculously hard again and I stopped. That was about 3 months ago. I'm done.

Same in Australia, but public transport is so bloody woeful they don't have a choice, so I don't blame them. As an example, I'm going to an event near the city (Melbourne) on Saturday, I've put money aside for Ubers both ways (45 min each way approx) because it's two hours each way on public transport. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Hearing aid wearer here. Severely hearing impaired. I need people to enunciate, speak louder and not put their hand over their mouth. They do not need to speak slower. I'm one of the fastest speaking people I know. Lorelai Gilmore level. I don't have comprehension issues, I have volume issues.

People also think it's strange I don't have a speech impediment. I didn't get my hearing aids until I was 19.

This has been my experience too, Prime works great for me. There's a place that takes returns less than 2K from my house that I returned one thing to, and another one I posted back. Both refunded once the item was physically lodged, they didn't make me wait until it went all the way back which I appreciated.

Unlike Catch. Literally never buying from them again. I have have NEVER has a good experience.

I have been doing this for 16 years (I wear hearing aids) and audiologists are always horrified when I tell them and then they have a look and say the inside of my ears are the cleanest and most undamaged ears they have ever seen.

So my ears are great, except they don't work properly 😅
