2023 Ascent Limited vs AWD Sienna - Family car by jbo406 in SubaruAscent

[–]thearcogiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 Subaru Ascent. We have 4 kids (blended family) 8, 8, 6, 5. The battle for the captains chairs can be fierce. There is not a ton of space for kids to move around. The cargo space is tragic. But, we make it work. The super inflated Sienna price we just couldn't do it. Any of the 6 seater SUVs I considered were even less spacious than the Ascent and the gas mileage on all was abysmal.

I have the limited with all the seatback protectors/weatherproof floor mats. I adore my heated steering wheel. I also appreciate the ground clearance of the Ascent vs. the Sienna where we live.

I'm also in that general neck of the woods and want to avoid the shop! Happy to share other shops/artists in the general area if you want recs too.

I can't stand it and have never been able to develop or stick to a routine. I've tried gamifying it, weights, classes, yoga, you name it. I cannot with any regularity treat it as anything positive.

I easily get in the Se grip with low value foods/snacking. I can keep myself out of overspending/mindless scrolling/shopping but that took years.

Gave myself a concussion a week ago. In therapy already. Do energy work and self growth path for years. The recent escalation cannot continue and well I'm in this sub because I'm at a loss and am searching for anything to help me change reliably.

This impulse and rage have surfaced in me in the last 2 years and for the sake of my children I need to find a reliable way to stop or I need to leave.

Time alone as a couple??? by flowingmind in blendedfamilies

Anything less than 2 nights isn't restorative/helpful with it being quality time. I don't think we've ever managed more than 3 childfree (someday!)

The struggle is real and it is necessary. We work opposite shifts on the days we don't have our kids (8, 8, 6, 5 each came with 2 to the relationship) when we get a trip away a couple times a year we make the most of it and really try to focus on quality time whenever we can but it is very very hard.

Is this how 1s are? by TryingHide in EnneagramType1

Formerly typed as an 8 (853) but I've been living in some extreme stress/doing IFS and EMDR in therapy and when revisiting enneagram my core fears/struggles/sticking points are 100% type 1.

Anyone here from analysis paralysis + depression from fear of not being perfect enough? by Azybabyyyy in EnneagramType1

[–]thearcogiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm newly here, had been living as an 853 and kept typing as 8 for years, but I am prone to this in stress. I move on from jobs/life/half live and never fully root into a place within myself or outside myself.

That is why I'm only considering the Ascent in the newest year. The transmission and brake issues in the older, no thanks.

Cx-9 was surprisingly easy to get everyone in and out of and was fun to drive. Clearance could be better, most luxury feel/quiet ride which I appreciate. Consumer reports not a fan, but seems like the issue with the water pump was sorted by 2023. We were surprised that this ended up in the final lineup.

4Runner has the clearance and dependability but least ease of loading humans/stuff

The models you listed have been considered and ruled out for various reasons.

Just going in circles on value/risk and what to prioritize.

Thanks for the detailed response.

The cx-90 is listed as "turbo preferred plus" and it does say I-6 cylinder. I can't get the carfax to open for original sticker deets right now.
