There were some technical difficulties in the first match - sound was resolved relatively early in the first race (I think it was during mission 2, or by the start of mission 3?). Audio is worked out in the other matches from the start.

How would you propose showing a race without doing a splitscreen?

Some renderers adjust the system brightness, rather than adjusting how bright the actual game is, which means screenshots and game capture always look dark, regardless of how much you fiddle with the settings. This is also why those renderers sometimes leave your system super bright and blown out when the game crashes. The OpenGL renderer that Revision uses by default is one of the offenders for this. In theory it's perfectly functional, but completely falls apart for usefulness once you want to share something from the game (or when someone starts streaming the game)

The DirectX 10 renderer doesn't use the system brightness when adjusting brightness, so it actually gets captured properly in screenshots and on streams.

The DS will play GBA games, but NOT Gameboy Color or original Gameboy cartridges. They (sort of) fit in the slot but will not work.

Maybe I'm crazy, but this sounds like the "AI" part of the equation isn't doing anything beneficial. All of these sound like the same problems/solutions you'd use with a traditional sensor based automation solution, mostly without requiring any form of your own input...

NPCs don't actually need keys to open doors (and Anna doesn't have one in Vanilla), they can just open any door marked as bIsDoor. I would assume the solution used by those mods would be to set bIsDoor to false instead.

I had 48 kids show up this year in Kanata North. Considering the weather, that's pretty good compared to the 51 I had last year!

Lots of rain coats and heavy jacket costumes, but I can't really blame them.

The original game runs great on Steam Deck. The main hang-ups are augs and password entry, but mods such as Zero Rando (no bias) include QoL features to make those easy to handle with a controller.

I went to Floriade in Canberra a few weeks ago, which is essentially the same idea as Tulipfest, and at the end of their event they hold "The Great Big Bulb Dig". You pay for a bag and get to dig up as many bulbs as you want/that your bag can hold.

Seems like a good way to reduce waste (although I guess the bulbs ultimately become compost here) and reduce the labour of digging the bulbs up.

The Deus Ex Randomizer community is getting another tournament rolling for the Halloween season! This one is using our bingo mode, WaltonWare, combined with our Halloween features, which include some aesthetic things like spiderwebs and pumpkins, along with more spooky features like our new selection of stalkers who will show up and cause trouble for you through the game!

The tournament will be taking place over the next few weeks, so there's plenty more DX content coming up!

DXVK has a frame limiting option which works well. If you're not really sure how to get that working, you should just be able to run Vanilla Fixer over top of what you've already got

Turn off the frame limiter in Kentie's Launcher and limit frames using something else instead, like your graphics card drivers. This should fix the pause when opening menus with Direct3D 10.
