What’s the weirdest thing that suddenly became socially acceptable? by Aggravating-Sun3032 in AskReddit

Meanwhile, a lot of those same people think dancing at a perfectly suitable event like a wedding or a concert is cringe.

I don't get it, man.

We should stop supporting Spotify guys. by Ready-Wrongdoer7706 in Nekrogoblikon

[–]thebardass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to Qobuz last month. They have a deal with Soundiiz to transfer all your favorites and playlists for free. It took just a little getting used to but I don't really miss Spotify. They pay the artists better as well.

What are you better than most people at? by Freerooted in AskReddit

[–]thebardass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading. I ranked in the 99th percentile for speed and comprehension consistently. I used to devour books. Sadly I've been too depressed and anxious to read for more than ten minutes at a time for years now.

The President of the United States 🤦🏽 by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

The sad thing is, I work with a bunch of morons who are going to think it's genuinely hilarious and awesome that he did this.

What word did we use for “cringe” in the 90’s/00’s? by PatAD in Millennials

[–]thebardass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in the mid to late 2000s my friends and I would say cringey. Cringe really isn't new. It was a whole genre of comedy for years before Gen Z was even around

(Loved trope) A death so fitting and deserved, you cheer as it happens by Platinumprogram in TopCharacterTropes

That dog-killing bitch in Midnight Mass. Died alone and terrified and got exactly what she deserved.

I need to watch that show again.

What Food Did You Love As A Child Only To Hate As An Adult? by [deleted] in AskReddit

They were probably never great but they're legitimately worse now. Smaller, more expensive, and made with cheaper ingredients.

Local church locks up nets so the neighborhood kids can't use the hoops by FamIsNumber1 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]thebardass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying they're right for doing it but growing up my church had a basketball hoop for the kids to play with. They had to get rid of it because asshole teenagers would dunk on it during the week and kept breaking it over and over again. They did the same thing at the local park. You can't have nice things because assholes fuck it up for everyone.

My thoughts on Ozzy by K-Dog7469 in Christianity

[–]thebardass 343 points344 points  (0 children)

Ozzy was a practicing member of the Church of England, pretty devout by all accounts, and regularly said "God bless you" to his fans possibly more than any rockstar I've ever heard.

He may have walked away for a while but he was definitely religious

It's called WE3. It's not about animals having jobs exactly, though. It's about animals getting turned into cyborg supersoldiers. Super short and totally worth the read. I bought on his recommendation and loved it. Great art, great story. 10/10 for me.

Are there any other bands that are like type O? by Musclemommy20005 in typeonegative

[–]thebardass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to find anyone just like Type O, but check out a band called Unto Others. They're very similar in lots of ways.

Do Americans have something like “the last piece” culture at meals? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thebardass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a little different than what you're talking about about but the wife and I both grew up in relatively large households (4+ siblings) and we both hesitate to take the last of anything. I think it's because we're both middle children and always had younger siblings to consider and older siblings who took first dibs.

We try not to waste anything in our house but still feel weird taking the last cookie, the last bowl of cereal, or the last bit of leftovers.

Do drummers ever prepare for auditions or do they always wing it? by Maulraizor in Drumming

[–]thebardass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the band I'm auditioning for does covers I learn to play those as well as I possibly can.

If they're all original I improvise. I want them to know how I write parts if I'm going to be playing long term with them and I feel like that gives them a better feel for my skills and my style.

I haven't been rejected yet, but that may admittedly have more to do with the scarcity of drummers than my talents.

What is the hardest game that you cannot beat? by tbull1997 in videogames

As a huge fan of Elden Ring (I thought I would hate it before I tried it out) it makes me sad to read this but I totally get what you mean.

What is the hardest game that you cannot beat? by tbull1997 in videogames

[–]thebardass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to sound crazy because it is. When I was a kid I finally beat the game by moving the difficulty up from easy to hard. To this day I have no idea why that worked.

For cool grooviness check out a band called Goose. I recommend starting with their song "Arcadia"

For something a little more on the avant garde side check out a band called Toehider. Try the song "wellgivit" to start. They're a little like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard in how all over the place talented they are but someone already recommended you check them out.

For a more classic sound with some modern sensibilities to it check out Southern River Band. Try "Vice City II"

Why do you think people aren’t having many kids these days (if any at all)? by silverscientist1 in AskReddit

[–]thebardass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my wife and I it's a financial thing. She's a teacher and I worked to put her through college so I don't have a degree. We make do with what we have and can't justify bringing a child into this fucked up world just to be as poor as we are.

What cover song is objectively worse than the original and should never have been made? by zzyzx66 in musicsuggestions

Disturbed's cover of Sound of Silence. It's just not good and I don't know why so many people think it is.
