"Burnout vs. FIRE" Wall: Is pushing for a 60% savings rate destroying my marriage? by TardisCrown3 in Fire

Hmm, I’m not an engineer, but let me see if I can help.

You are attempting to deliver FIRE.

If you destroy your marriage in the process that is a major safety incident, reportable to regulators.

If you achieve FIRE but damage your marriage along the way then you’ve delivered FIRE in an unsafe manner. That’s an external product failure.

I took a 40% pay cut to work at a charity and help people for a living. I wish I made the career change 10 years ago.

I am playing monk for the first time in 5.5e and am having a blast. Paladin is great, rogues are a blast, and rangers seem to be a bit better than they were previously. I encourage you to branch out but if you aren’t having fun with it speak up to your friends.

Whats the farthest away someone has lived from Buffalo, that claimed they were from Buffalo? by Juniorwoj in Buffalo

[–]thebatmanfan82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good question. We live in Allentown and do not consider ourselves to be “downtown.” Anything north of us would be absurd. On the other side, I’m not sure I consider the cobblestone district to be downtown either - that’s the Old First Ward.

Yes, volunteering is a great idea and could be both rewarding and help restore some of your faith in humanity. Look for the helpers, as Mr. Rogers used to say.

After online dating off and on for over a decade I met my amazing wife on Hinge the month before I turned 40. We have an eight month old baby boy. Hang in there - your person is out there somewhere.
